A book that influenced a whole generation, and still inspires today.

An amazing international runaway bestseller, both in Europe and the USA, this book influenced a whole generation. It foresaw the information age, and challenged our society to let humans be creative instead of machines. It was a game changer.

40 years later it is still a reference, recommended by famed Silicon Valley entrepreneur Peter Thiel, the president of the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab, and by Nobel Prize Paul Krugman (author of the electronic edition preface) among others. This is an important book that helps us today to understand how we missed what were our desired goals back in the 1960s for our civilisation into the 21st century.

Economics shocker: 1967 to 2013

Although first published in 1967, this is quite up to date about European economics, ,may have resulted in the euro, and a good read along with Pikerty's Capital in the 21st century. One reader said it moved him to be a libertarian. It moved me to be a socialist, as the author thought the result of American entrepreneurism should be a four day work week, more vacation, health care for all, and narrowing the gap between rich and poor. Unfortunately the inevitable march of wealth at the top haas given us the opposite.

Decades old and written for the European market.

This is not a novel. This is not light reading. This is not the best book for the beach either. It is old and the content played a role in European policy in the last quarter of the last century.
