- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2011Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI think this book is amazing because it has been written very well and it's simple to be read. I'm italian but despite that I have understood the whole book easily. So I recommend this book to anyone who likes graphic novels and above all who likes Castle. If you really like Castle I recommend also Heat Wave, Naked Heat and Heat Rises. Here are the links. Heat Rises (Nikki Heat 3)Calor desnudo (Naked Heat Nikki Heat Series Spanish Edition)Heat Wave Premium Edition (Nikke Heat 1)
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2011Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI readily admit to being a die-hard Castle fan, and I'll buy anything that comes out with Castle's name on it. The story was about what I expected from a Richard Castle plot - a little over the top, kind of goofy, and doesn't take itself very seriously, but still well-written and entertaining. The art, not surprisingly, was flawless; I wouldn't expect less from Brian Michael Bendis. I'd love to see more of the Derrick Storm novels come out, whether in text or in graphic novel form.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2012Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseItem: The graphic novel is as described.
Delivery: Prompt and well packaged.
Recommend: Would recommend this graphic novel to anyone whose a fan of Castle!
Purchase again?: Yes, if I ever need another copy.
I am a Castle fan, so I may be a bit biased. However, if it was a crap read, I would state it without hesitation.
This graphic novel, had a storyline that was quite entertaining and I look forward to the next one!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2011Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThis was a great first run. The art was beautiful and the sentiments are appreciated (I love the series and the nuance that connected this comic to the show) but the story was VERY light. Not much to it. No twisting and turning. No guessing. No suspense. Not what I expected. As a fan, I would be willing to give their next attempt at the comic a chance. For those not too familiar with the series, I'd suggest looking to different content for entertainment while these guys figure out their process and direction.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2011Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseRichard castle: Deadly Storm (a Derrick Storm Mystery)
Publisher: Marvel
Story and art by: Brian Michael Bendis, Kelly Sue Deconnick, Lan Medina
Graphic Novel. Hardcover edition
Blurb: CASTLE fans rejoice! For the first time anywhere, CASTLE's titular hero Derrick Storm comes to life in the pages of this all-new graphic novel. This "adaptation" of Derrick Storm's first novel adventure takes our hero from the gritty world of the private eye all the way to the globe-hopping intrigue of the CIA. Eisner Award-winning Marvel Architect Brian Bendis and red hot Osborn writer Kelly Sue DeConnick worked closely with CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe to create the one thing millions of CASTLE fans have been asking for: Their first real Derrick Storm adventure. A wall-to-wall, gritty, witty, globe-hopping detective thrill ride for fans of the hit TV show starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, as well as fans of darn good comic books.
I'm not a major graphic novel reader. This is my second (first was 30 days of night). As a fan of the hit ABC series, I have bought two of the Richard Castle novels, Heat Wave and Heat Rises. The TV series mentions Derrick Storm on several occasions. So, I thought why not grab a copy and give it a read.
And I'm glad I did. It was better than the 'Heat' books and it moved at a much faster pace. Derrick Storm is a PI who gets hired by the CIA to track down an ex-CIA agent. A 'person of interest' that he was currently investigating of behalf of this agent's wife.
Things are not as they seem in this graphic novel as they are with all episodes of Castle. There are twists, turns and double dealing (better than Castle). There are a few confusing spots in the storyline and there are a few pages were Derrick Storm doesn't look anything like the Derrick Storm on other pages, especially hair colour and facial shape. In a graphic novel it is not just the story that counts, it's the details in the images as we need these to put two and two together and get five.
Overall, the story is pretty good and entertaining (as a story should be).
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2011Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI'm so glad I ordered this comic book! The art work is amazing, the story is great and I think it was very smart of ABC to publish a Derrek Storm graphic novel. It's great to have a condensed version of Deadly Storm and I really hope they make a Derrek Storm comic book series. A must have for Castle fans. It's a great addition to my DVD and Nikki Heat collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2015Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI didn't know the book series even existed until I saw someone with a paperback novel. Jumped on board thinking I was buying a novel for my wife, but, like another post, this is a COMIC BOOK format ("when I became a man, I put away childish things..."). Seems a bit dishonest not to mention anything about this in any of the descriptive matter relating to the purchase. Highly disappointed and feel cheated. I'll be a lot more cautious from now on.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2021Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseGift for my son - a big fan of the Castle books. He’d not been able to find the graphic novels, and nearly cried when he opened this birthday gift.

MircoReviewed in Italy on May 7, 20255.0 out of 5 stars Un Fumetto Avvincente per i Fan di Castle
