My 7-year-old son, who usually resists picking up a book, absolutely adored the book and wanted to not only read it but finish it (without a fight). It perfectly captures the ups and downs of a day in the life of expressive children with big emotions.
The vibrant illustrations and engaging narrative had my son giggling throughout. He thought Lanky was the cutest lemur he’s ever seen, and Lanky and Chilla’s adventures made him laugh out loud more than once. The story does a wonderful job of addressing and normalizing big emotions in a way that is accessible and entertaining for children.
Seeing my son so engrossed in a book was a rare and wonderful experience. This is a fantastic read for any young child learning to navigate their emotions, and it comes highly recommended by our family.
