Through recounting the challenges in her own life, ranging from the simple--weight loss and quitting smoking—to the complex—a cancer diagnosis, she shows her reader how maintaining a healthy sense of humor can help one cope more effectively with life’s unexpected twists and turns. The older we get, the more we face physical limitations so it is easy to relate to the scenarios and connect your own challenges to hers. In a voice that is both humorous and poignant, she made me feel like she was talking with me one-on-one over coffee. Her writing flows naturally from scenario to scenario. Once I started reading, I did not want to put it down. What next, I thought, sometimes laughing out loud.
We all face challenges and it’s how we respond that will determine the success of our coping skills. I highly recommend this enjoyable and informative read which offers a healthy perspective on how a sense of humor can make a positive difference in the quality of our lives.

One of my favorites is, "a belated card from Santa insisted that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is not an alcoholic as some have claimed, but simply has a bad case of rosacea!"
It's true that laughter can heal whatever ails you, so I recommend that you give yourself a healthy dose of Dancin' Schmancin' with the Scars.
I agree wholeheartedly agree with the comment that Jan Marshall’s style is very Dorothy Parker; I love both these ladies with all my heart! Now what else has she written? Pat McDonald
I recently had a few friends who were diagnosed with Cancer. I just ordered this book for them because I feel it will enlighten and elevate their spirits while going through this difficult time.
My favorite piece from the book was her relationship with Siri in her iPhone. They are going to a marriage counselor and it made me laugh hysterically as I too have my own issues with her and all smart phones and may consider marriage therapist as well
