From the moment the box opened she said "GEORGE!" and hasn't left him behind since. After watching the show and all the movies multiple times, I decided she should have a stuffed George rather than her carrying around the DVD case pointing at him all day. Our girl is 21 months and loves George, and now loves her own personal George.

It was between the 12 inch and the 8 inch, and I went with this one for the more huggable size and not the pocket size. I've included a few pics for cuteness/size reference. She is 33 inches tall and about 22 pounds and George is big enough to love on and help her feel "secure" yet small enough not to weigh her down.

Very cute and soft. Seems to be well made. The perfect size for my little one.

Update: I am disappointed in the quality of the shirt. It developed tons of little fuzz balls all over the shirt. It did this within a month of receiving and my little one barely even played with him at that point--no washing, etc. Now he sleeps with George every night, and I'm going to have to hand wash him at some point, but worried the shirt will deteriorate further.

Update 2: The shirt is actually still holding up almost 1 year later. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this item again even with the fuzz balls. This quickly became my toddler's favorite thing. The stuffed animal and shirt have been washed now. I removed the shirt before washing and was a little more gentle with it. I hand washed and air dried as the directions said. I used Dreft for the detergent. The stuffed animal came out beautifully. He's a little less fluffy but that was just from all the loving- not the washing!

Huggable but just doesn’t look like George

Bought this for my grandson (just 2yrs old) who will watch Curious George episodes with laser focus. The “monkey show” is his hands-down favorite. I was disappointed when “George” arrived as the manufacturer really didn’t try very hard to make a look-alike of George. They have given him large, shiny black, oval, lifeless eyes. (Yes I know it’s a stuffed animal but when a manufacturer gets it right YOU know those faces can be charmingly lifelike.) These are not George’s eyes. I have ideas on the changes I will make to turn them into George-eyes (ie. painting in the whites of his eyes and adding his characteristic eyebrows.) This George is larger than the one you may remember seeing when you were young. One thing that they got right is it’s huggability. Its definitely huggable...soft and huggable. A “5” on huggability really, but... sigh... it just doesn’t look like George.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet! This stuffy might be the most important purchase I have ever made from amazon. I bought this for my Curious George loving son to give to him on Valentine’s Day when he was one year old. Well, my son turns 6 tomorrow and he still sleeps with George every night! George has been by his side since day one. He’s been loved quite a bit and he doesn’t look like he did when he was new, but he is still holding together well! He washes up nicely in the washing machine, though his stuffing is a little wonky now. I try to give him a good fluff now and then.

My (almost) two year old daughter now loves Curious George, and I am now trying to find a suitable George to give her, though she already has a lovey and a blanky.

This is our second George of this kind. This George has become my little guys "lovey". It goes everywhere with him. He absolutely LOVES it so we decided it was time for a twin.

Now his bedtime George is always waiting for him (and can stay clean) while the other George is always ready to go on an adventure. The George's can be swapped out as needed and there is no disruption to his routine.

My son has some signs of a slight sensory disorder and after his OT's recommendation of a "lovey" type item, he seems to have decided that George is it. This George is the perfect size for my toddler to hug and snuggle and it washes and dries nicely in the machine with little wear and stays super soft.

George's t-shirt pills quickly

My 2 1/2 year old daughter LOVES this George. She got it for Christmas and hasn't let it out of her sight since. The doll itself is very soft and the right level of squishy - perfect for snuggles.

My only issue at this point, 3 weeks since she got it, is the red t-shirt is already pilling. I have had t-shirts that I wear weekly for years and they never pill. This one, with only toddler love, is pilled all over. I haven't washed George yet, so the pilling is not caused from that. Considering how much this toy cost and how little decent t-shirt fabric costs, it would seem that they could make it out of a higher quality material. Luckily, I sew, so will likely use the shirt he's wearing now to make a nicer mama made shirt for him to wear. It won't have his name on it but I doubt that she will care.

My girl loves this monkey and I am happy that I was able to find a toy that she loves so much... just wish it was of slightly better materials.
