Remington is a girl living in Vegas from the wrong side of the tracks. She's smart, attractive and has been dealt a crappy hand in life. She lives with her dad who's never around and her step brother who's not so much her step brother anymore and kind of creepy. He has made Remi HIS and he thinks he owns her.
But when Remi starts her new school her senior year, she's hoping this is her way out. She's always wanted to get away from "home" and become something. There she meets her debate teacher, Mr Pierce James and he's one hard teacher. He pushes his students and doesn't take any crap. And on day one, he sends his new student to the principal's office for her shoe wear. You're at a private school and you must act and dress accordingly, apparently.
Both of the characters have secrets and things they are trying to hide from everyone around them. Unfortunately Remi can't do such a good job of one of her secrets. Her "brother". He's always around and trying to hurt Remi in any way he can. Although there is a love there that transcends his more evil ways. He's more emotionally abusive than anything, but when things start getting physical, that's when Mr James steps in. And he can't deny their chemistry.
"She's an innocent wrapped in a body made up of every sin I've ever wanted to commit. A good girl with bad intentions."
Although I did enjoy the taboo story, I was hoping for more 'proof' of Remi's academic prowess. It was stated she got in to the private school with her top grades and I never got that from her. She seemed more to be the pretty girl that was there to entice men and push their buttons. Nothing wrong with that, just make the story go accordingly.
"I will misbehave until I break him."
The story WAS taboo and it had characters that made the plot line work with twists and connections. But the love story was just that. Two broke souls looking to reach out and they connected. Pierce and Remi connected on another level. I didn't look at them as a student and teacher. There was something more visceral going on. Sometimes age doesn't matter and sometimes love isn't always black and white. THAT was this story. Secret, lies, and looking for answers to things you lost. Not perfect but the story worked for these characters.
"There is no right or wrong in this world. No black and white. Remington and I live in the gray area. Logic is pointless. Gut feeling is dangerous. The only way to know whether you did the right or wrong thing is to ride it out and see it to the end."
So, I knew from the blurb I was going to love this book, but as mentioned above, I sort of had a pre-conceived notion that I would.
Remi and James' story had everything! Their story together, as well as their individual stories.
Once you get into it, you definitely see that Remi is not your average teenage girl. She was raised in a rough environment by her father and pseudo-brother, and everything was far from peaches and cream. Her dad was barely there, since he seemed to be working every hour of the day, and her "brother" Ryan was weirdly obsessed with her. What I loved most about her was the fact that even though she didn't have the best of upbringings, she did not let it define her. The girl was resilient, bad ass and she took no crap—from anybody. All it took was one encounter with the forbidden for her composure to crack.
That leads us into all that is Pierce James—swoon for the name alone. Mr. James had to be one of the sexiest teachers I've read about. I mean, if he were my teacher, I definitely would've taken up debate. He had his own demons to bare and the last thing he should've been worried about was his hot as hell teenage student. But boy oh boy was he.
After their first encounter the tension is palpable. As their story progresses, the back and forth banter was fun and kind of sexy. I loved that once Pierce admitted his feelings to not only himself, but also to Remi, things seemed to get hotter between them—didn't even know that was possible. And you can't help but root for them, because they overcome so much in their individual lives, that you want them to have everything together.
They helped each other find each other, if that makes sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, they could have succumb to things going wrong in their lives, but they chose to beat the negative and find the positive, and it just so happen to be each other.
This was a really fun story to read, because it's supposed to be seen as taboo. I just thought it was unbelievably hot. It had it's "what the F***!" moments, it's sad moments and it's overjoyed moments. Overall, I'd say this is a MUST read. So make sure to BUY THIS BOOK and let greatness happen to you!

Misbehaved is so much more than your typical teacher student romance, it is steamy, filthy and has just that hint of knight in shining armour that makes our knees buckle.
Remington Stringer is sassy, independent and unafraid of anything except losing her anchor and the one person who has always been there for her, her step-brother Ryan. But their relationship is changing, evolving in a way that Remi can’t control and that frightens her.
Remi gets offered a way out, a chance to give herself a shot at a future she’d only dreamed of before when she’s offered a place at a prestigious private school. Her plan is to keep her head down, survive the snobby academy and get out of Vegas but then she meets Mr James and things change. Remi can no longer deny that her life is falling apart, that things are spinning out of her control. And as for Mr James, he’s stubborn, aloof and ever so sexy. There’s this amazing chemistry between them and I FLOVE them together.
This is a book full of sexiness, complicated taboo relationships and adult themes. It’s well executed and sucks you in so fast that you’re almost half way through before you’ve even looked up. I will be buying this in paperback, that’s how much I love this book. Well done ladies, it’s another 5 stars from us!
