About the author

Judith Lucci is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Amazon Best Selling author who loves to kill people - which is totally opposite what she's spent her life doing. "I love to think of heinous ways to dispose of people - sometimes a lot of people- but it must be creative. I don't use guns very often but rather rely on my medical background and research to figure out the best way to get the job done. Bullets are just too easy. I'm sure a psychiatrist would have a ball trying to figure out why someone who spent her life caring for people and saving lives, now spends hours each day in the creative pursuit of murder."
Dr. Lucci is a Gold Medal Winner for Best Sleuth 2017 for The Case of Dr. Dude, the first book in the Michaela McPherson Series and another Gold Medal for Best Political Thriller in 2017 for Viral Intent, the third book in the Alexandra Destephano medical thriller series. Her third Michaela McPherson mystery won a silver medal in 2018 for Best Sleuth. She's has contributed to numerous anthologies, some of which are currently available on Amazon. She has recently claimed the prestigious status of a Wall Street Journal best selling author. She is also a USA Today best selling author. Her Cozy Mystery series, Artsy Chicks, is set at Massanutten Resort in the Virginia mountains where she and several other artists and the local medical examiner, solve mysteries of deaths that occur at the resort.
Lucci's thrillers are a fast-paced, riveting reads that offer readers believable drama, memorable characters and true suspense. Her books are described as 'unputdownable."
Judith was born and educated in Virginia where she holds graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. She is also the author of numerous academic and health-related articles and documents. She loves to communicate with her readers at www.judithlucci.com.

The bad guys are all the same vicious, evil, and crazy interchangeable characters who spew the same hatred and lines, regardless if they are mobsters, jihadists, Russians, or the evil white administrator.
Then we have the missing great moments between these star-crossed lovers.
We wait for Alex and Jacob’s great scene when they see each other again. All is explained, and forgiven and the pledge their love--Wait, it never happens. There is no happy encounter, no talk or explanations, just Jacob and a huge bouquet of flowers.
Next, there are storyline inconsistencies and character confusions. The terrorist in previous book who attacks the congressman's home is named as Yassar Ahmid. In this book he becomes Nasir the terrorist from an earlier book who also died in that story.
Then we have the Russian Vadim as the hospital killer, and he is also the St Germaine killer who’s been doing this since 1939? How old is this guy? In this book he seems to be in his 50’s. First he describes his daughter as a pregnant teenager, then she's a college graduate.
Shooter and others share the story in previous books how at age 3 he witnessed his father killing his mother by shooting her in the head, but in this book he beats her to death. Which way did she die?
Finally, we are supposed to believe that everyone is going to forgive and accept Jacob? Her die hard conservative, vengeful, often irate grandfather? No, not buying it. Only Jack’s reaction and anger rings true, and painting Alex as a love blinded teen does not go with the character she’s been presented as in previous books. Where is the intelligent, sophisticated and not very trusting or forgiving character who fiercely loves her family and friends? No matter how much everyone rationalizes the reasons behind Jacob’s choices he still made them, and he seems to be the only one who realistically sees them for what they are.
Add to that constant lazy editing with regular grammar issues and you get really poor writing, weak storylines an predicable lukewarm characters.
Fans of the ‘Queen of New Orleans Medical Thrillers’ will not be disappointed by this new excursion into the happenings at the Crescent City Medical Center. A great summer read and highly recommended.
THERE ARE MANY CHARACTERS WITH SOME SUBPLOTS. YET THE AUTHOR’S SUMMARIES MAKE THE STORY CLEARLY UNDERSTANDABLE.
TTHE ENDING WAS SO SUSPENSEFUL, FILLED WITH ACTION AND SURPRISE THAT I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
It was interesting getting the background on Jacob Stark and how it fits into the story now. As a follow-on to the 4th story where the terrorist event occurred, it was welcoming to see that all of the Lee's survived and how Alex had seemed to blossom out. I enjoy the fact that Alex now had a dog named Shogun and how protective he was with the Poachers.
The story of events in New Orleans was well written and you needed to finished the book to get an idea how it began and ended.
Along with this book, I highly recommend it and the other 4 stories in the series. Will now look forward to reading the last one that was recently released.
They need her help. Alex is admitted to the hospital. It may be blood clots. Now what?
Come along on this roller coaster ride and find out what is happening. You'll be glad you did.
