About the author

Patrick Rothfuss had the good fortune to be born in Wisconsin in 1973, where the long winters and lack of cable television encouraged a love of reading and writing.
After abandoning his chosen field of chemical engineering, Pat became an itinerant student, wandering through clinical psychology, philosophy, medieval history, theater, and sociology. Nine years later, Pat was forced by university policy to finally complete his undergraduate degree in English.
When not reading and writing, he teaches fencing and dabbles with alchemy in his basement.

At least, not until they're much older, and much less susceptible to nightmares. It is, however, _very_ well written, and even with a large portion of the story being pictures, it still manages to invoke a great deal of imagination and implication in the reader's mind, preferring to hint at things that happen off-scene and in between rather than any explicit visuals (mostly gore and "things in the dark"). I got this for my wife (a long-time Sandman fan, and also a fan of Patrick's other works) for her birthday, and we both loved it.
There are three endings. Each leads on from the previous, and each provides a different feel to the book if you stop there. Feel free to stop at the one you like. (:
Dark, twisted, and amazing well done: the author hilariously breaks stereotypes, while the artist adds all kinds of little surprises that keep this book fresh re-read after re-read.
though she reads well beyond this level because she has a younger brother who has made her feel the same things the young
prince caused the princess to feel. I also liked the fact that the book was divided into chapters which gives the feel of more advanced reading level books.
The art is fantastic and full of fun little Easter eggs for these willing to take the time to really look. You may even see a well known king killer has come along for the adventure.
The story is twisted and fun till the end and just dark enough to break the norm and make u wonder ...."he won't go there ...will he?"

Hope there's a Book Three!

It ist a Vera Gold piece oft Art. I'm hoping for a rerun of the first book.
