I just finished this book and found it hard to put down. Being a teacher I don't have much time to read during the school year so I really like to read good quality books during my time off in the summer. I certainly did not make a mistake by picking up this book. I found myself eagerly turning to the next page as I was reading it. I thought the storyline was clever and different. I really liked Jonas, the main character of the story. He was well developed and a terrific protagonist. If you like some humor added to a story, Carter Wilson does a great job making you laugh out loud with his dialogue between Jonas and some of the other characters in the story. The dialogue is excellent and moves the story along smoothly and at a great pace. The alzheimer's narrative presented in the story between Jonas and his father is extremely compelling and quite well written. The story does have some graphic scenes incorporated into it but these scenes are important to the overall plot of the story. Mr. Wilson does a nice job writing these scenes into the story without detracting from the character and integrity of the plot.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fast-paced, entertaining and well written story. I read on the back cover that Mr. Wilson is currently working on his next novel. I hope he finishes this one soon because I really look forward to reading another story by this author!!!!

WOW!!! This thriller grabs your attention from the very first page! The intense and intriguingly creepy plot contains multiple storylines that merge together through terrifying twists and turns. The characters are given the perfect amount of depth so that the reader can easily identify why each character acts in the manner he/she does - this is especially crucial for the antagonist, Rudiger. The author explores the depths of human wickedness and successfully conveys why one human with a rare psychological disorder feels justified performing such horrifying acts on another human. I found myself in a page turning frenzy, but forced myself to slow down to better appreciate the author's impressive writing style as well as the storyline. This book is filled with imaginative analogies and quick witted dialogue - every sentence is well written and not to be missed! FINAL CROSSING is a page-turning thriller and you should definitely NOT pass this one up!!! Carter Wilson's debut novel does not disappoint and I am anxiously awaiting his next thriller!

How I spent my July fourth holidays: reading non- stop Carter Wilson's inaugural suspense thriller, Final Crossing. The lean, clean narrative and ephemeral chapters move the chilling story at a compelling staccato pace-just try putting it down. If you're a fan of Michael Connally and/or Nelson DeMille (to me, the premiers of the genre) I think you will find Mr. Carter's quick witted Jonas Osborne on par with DeMille's quirky, smart ass protagonists-and Final Crossing's dark and delusional antagonist, Rudy, in keeping with those conjured by Connally-The Poet for example. That is some heady company, but Carter Wilson breaks into their league with his first major's at bat, and with his own original approach and execution that puts you in the scene.

Did I mention this is a good read? That screams for a sequel.

I can agree with other reviewer's point about the tension and the somewhat of a surprise ending. There is a clue to it before though, and it happened as I suspected. This story itself is about a very very sick man named Rudiger. It's very hard to believe he ever could have been enlisted in any service because I'd think he would have failed any psychological tests. His background is very sad indeed, but what he became is beyond belief for me. The tension does build well, and the writing is very good for a first story. If this becomes some sort of series, however, I will not be following it.

A terrific thriller! If you're wondering whether or not to buy this book, stop wondering. Put down what you are doing and buy this book. From the opening paragraph to the last line, I was hooked. It has a well paced plot and keeps your attention through out. A tale that is thought provoking, lingering, tightly woven, heinous, and gruesome. The characters are likeable and you want to know what is next. I hope there is a sequel in the works! I am sure Anne can pull Jonas into all kinds of dangerous and dark escapades.
