This is a gorgeous book, if you or anyone else is interested in infographics and how they are made, this is well worth the price. It is an enormous hardback with many pages dedicated to the design of the infographics. The only caveat is that the art of the graphics is the focus, so you can't really read most of them as they are stand alone, without the accompanying article. Many are lacking the Info- part.

I own a lot of design books, with numerous books on infographics. This is by far the best book I have found for inspiration. Many other books focus on showing polished work, but this book is page after page of handwritten notes and sketches from some amazing designers. As a designer, I can appreciate seeing another individual's work and process. I highly recommend this book to add to your library.

First of all, this is not a how-to book.

Instead, this is a collection of some well done examples of various styles of infographics with accompanying sketches and process images provided by their many creators. This book is a good source of inspiration for diverse kinds of infographic design and is also useful for gaining insight into the formative design process employed by working professionals in the field. Just be aware that you will not find any explicitly instructional material in this book.

I'm giving this book only a 4 star rating because a number of the photos included in it were fairly pixelated. This is apparent without having to look especially close up and I'm not sure why they'd include such low resolution images in a book of this otherwise high level of quality that is selling for over $40. Isn't bad enough for me to recommend against buying, but I'd expect more from somebody like Steven Heller.

Kind of neat for the sketchbook art part, but there's very little substance here in the way of how and why these infographics were designed the way they were. I was expecting something more informative.

Designers' Sketchbook offers designers a look into the process of the world's leading infographic specialists. A great resource for designers and other folks engaged who produce infographics. Visually compelling. Its so beautiful it can pass as a coffee table book. This is an advanced book for people who know the basics of what makes a good infographic. If you are just getting started with infographics you may want to consider a more elementary book and graduate to this book of the best.

Very interesting "read". Cool to see the insight and planning behind many info graphics, products, labels, and magazine features. Definitely not JUST info graphics; for one example, the process behind a designers revision of prescription medicine bottles and labels made for Target is included in this book. Also, of course, a ton of info graphics from around the world are featured. Some feature extensive insight into the designer's planning process, while many others have just a very brief description of the graphic, the designer, and the dimensions included in the graphic.
