I need to change the way I cook for my husband’s GERD issues. I bought three “usually purchased together” books. This was the ONLY Worthwhile Cookbook of the three. One book had so many special ingredients that, after reading, I knew I’d be living in a Health food store, shopping for ingredients. No thank you. No time or money for that. All the recipes in this little gem so far have been great, tasty, and, with VERY few exceptions, use ingredients from regular cooking or what you can pick up in a regular grocery store. Common sense. Common ingredients. Easy recipes. That works for me. Definitely need more like this.

I bought this because my husband has acid reflux. I have made many dinners from these recipes. They are easy to make and most are quick to prepare. Best of all, they taste great so we are all enjoying the meals. In addition, the portions are reasonable so we don’t have lots of leftovers to deals with.

It's an ok cookbook for acid reflux. The main criticism I have is that almost every recipe uses ginger and/or fennel as the flavoring agents. It's sooooo repetitive. Also, these are very strong flavors and many people really don't like them. I personally hate fennel. There are so many other acid-reflux friendly herbs, spices, etc.. that could have been use. Shows a lack of imagination. I'll just have to swap out these ingredients so I don't die of boredom.

This book is easy to read. It is well-researched with current information. It contains lifestyle suggestions to manage gastric reflux as well as a variety of simple, quick recipes with normal ingredients. Only basic kitchen equipment is needed. Helpful food lists are included. The only addition I would suggest is a section on beverage suggestions. Overall, though, I'm very glad I found this resource and am very happy with this purchase.

Ive recently had a very bad flare up of my acid reflux, and lost almost 30 lbs not being able to eat almost anything for a month. I purchased this book about 3 weeks ago and have been cooking dinner from it almost every night. So far not a single recipe has given me bad symptoms and most of the dishes are actually pretty tasty! I highly recommend the Mushroom Pasta Carbonara it has been my favorite dish so far and is even good cold for a good lunch at work! There are some bad reviews on this book and I honestly cant figure out why, the recipes are easy, quick and for the most part very flavorful for having such limited ingredients!
