The cardboard itself, is strong too and has withstood the inevitable knawing that infants do to books! I plan to buy all the books from this author and collection! I bought this book for my 9 months old who is very much into books with flaps. Unfortunately the images in this book are too small for the baby to focus on what is hidden behind the flaps. The pictures themselves are of muted coloured animals on a muted coloured background, so the characters just don't stand out. This book might be better suited for a two year old. Otherwise it seems quite solid and sturdy.
