The Reckoning started with the lava flow, threatening to trap Andrew in Puna. Then the hurricane hit.

From seeing the hidden fractals within the trees, to meditating in silence for 10 days, to falling in love and seeing that love crumble, the Big Island gives Andrew unparalleled opportunities to grow. Buoyed by a new project, Andrew starts off the new year with a fresh energy and is guided to the biweekly talks of a Hawaiian elder.

The elder reminds him of truths that he’d forgotten, and he leads the group through the healing techniques of
laulima and ho‘oponopono, giving Andrew a new energy to release the last shred of attachment to a person who simply doesn’t want to be with him.

Now that he has created more space and clarity, his social circle expands, and Andrew meets someone who becomes one of the strongest catalysts for joy and growth in his life. But she is leaving the island in just six months.

Andrew faces a forking path. All the while, lava is heading toward Pahoa, threatening to isolate all of Puna. The elder taught him that love prevails all trauma, but will that be enough?

Ten Thousand Hours in Paradise is a 3-volume true story about the consciousness shift that happens when you embrace Hawaii. Volume 3: Reckoning takes flight with earthshaking changes, powerful healing, a new lava flow, and a hurricane, resulting in a reckoning that changes Andrew forever.

Author. Traveller. Net-diver.

As a citizen of Earth, Andrew is interested in growth & tearing down the illusion of separation. To this end, he writes fast-paced Tropical Sci-Fi and TRUE HAWAII books designed to expand your mind, heart, and spirit.

His debut novel, THE TRUTH BEYOND THE SKY, is the 1st book in the Epic of Aravinda, a science fiction adventure series that draws inspiration from around the globe, including eastern mythology, sacred geometry, and the Ra Material. Since its release, the novel has been professionally produced as an Audible.com audiobook and featured on UPR radio for successfully predicting gravity waves years before they were officially proven by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) in 2016.

The series continued with THE ISLAND ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER, inspired by Andrew's adventures on the strange trails of Hawaii Island. And the out-of-body adventure THE MIRAGE ON THE BRINK OF OBLIVION is the triumphant third installment in the series.

Wherever Andrew is in time and space, it's important to him to keep the lines of communication open with his readers. Reach him at: http://myth.li/contact/

Andrew is an adventurer in every sense of the word. He not only beautifully and poetically brings the reader along with him as he traverses the varied land he explores, he opens his heart and mind to possibilities where few venture to go. As the reader we are fortunate that Andrew has such a poetic way with words. He writes as he lives life, full heartedly. This book continues to follow his experiences on Hawaii, follows a new love in his life, and where the many paths lead him. I could not put down any of the three books in this trilogy and I was sad when the story finally ended as I had thoroughly enjoyed every minute of them and didn't want the story to end. Andrew is a unique and very likable person who the reader can't help but feel connected to through his writing and thirst to squeeze everything he can out of life. Mahalo Andrew for the wonderful books.

If you have read part one and two you probably couldn't wait to find out how Andrew's adventures in paradise went on. Here is the final part until he leaves the island for now. You visit new and interesting place with him, hear about his personal struggles and victories and meet interesting characters. The Hawaiian Kuhuna Harry Uhane Jim with his deep wisdom accompanies you through the story.

As a beta test to the audio version of Vol 3: Reckoning, I felt I was in a room with the author as he told his story of his adventures on Hawaii Island. I have lived on Hawaii Island for nearly five years. The author described the places I knew with accurate detail. I felt I was there again. As for those locations I had not been to, I found myself anxiously waiting to hear what he saw and experienced next. This is a great book for anyone wanting to experience Hawaii Island through the eyes of the author. It's not a travel guide but a great story with accurate descriptions of places at the south part of Hawaii Island. His encounters with other people who live in Puna District and the activities are as I know them. The story is one that will bring you delight, his personal experiences and associated feelings are ones that most people can relate. The fluctuations in his voice (audio version) I felt were true to the experience. The clarity made me feel like I was in the same room with him. I recommend all three volumes of 10,000 Hours in Paradise for anyone who enjoys an adventure. I look forward to reading his subsequent Trilogy.

Loved learning the culture of Hawaii through the adventures of the author. There were times I felt like I was in Hawaii. This book is beautifully written. The author captured my attention and held it to the end. Can't wait to read the next adventure!

There is an old saying that “love rewards the brave.” Crusoe’s life, and the story he recounts in the the 3rd volume of his Hawaiian adventure, are explorations of this truism. Through the diary-like prose, you can almost feel and touch the lush, living island and feel welcomed into the Aloha spirit of the communities he befriends. It is an intimate peek into the magic that reveals itself when one is courageous enough to embrace the risk of following their heart, knowing that love rewards the brave. Mahalo nui, Andrew!

As a beta reader who just finished an early view of this final part of the series, I recommend it highly. The conclusion to the trilogy kept me guessing & was as well-written & satisfying as the first two volumes. In general, this is a story from a mature writer who tackles relatable and human themes, indulges his (and my) inner nerd, and describes Hawaii in beautiful prose.

I enjoyed every page of this 3 volume adventure. I was sad it had to end. Andrew never stops exploring the island and his personal life. I’m so glad he decided to share it all with us. Looking forward to more of his adventures to come!

I bought the first book in this series to get a traveller’s view of Hawaii, a place I would love to visit some day, but what I got was so much more. I ended up buying the other two books to see the rest of Andrew’s adventure.

Andrew is a great storyteller and through his words, I feel like I have a good start in getting to know how beautiful the islands and the people are. This isn’t just a travelogue, it’s a journal of personal growth. I feel that I have personally grown through the author’s experiences as well.

I found it very easy and interesting to read, but if what you are looking for is a travel guide, this probably isn’t for you. The author describes a lot of personal experiences such as his 10 days of silent meditation, his love of nature and personal relationships, interspersed with beautiful descriptions of sceneries and little known places, but it’s not a visiting guide per se.

I loved all three books of the series.
