It seems it is a series with a duet of authors as on the same release day a second book comes out, each starring one of two sleuth sisters.
So here, it is Cassandra’s story. A lady Pinkerton, talented and able to extract herself from near any dangerous situation. She has quite a gift to adapt and disguise herself. She never lets a detail out even if it looks insignificant.
Not a stone is left unturned by her, she thoroughly exploits every path she comes across.
Quinn is quite her alter ego, he too examines every clue from his two occupations point of view. And like he finishes everyone of her sentences, he completes her in her investigation, offering slightly different options to deal with their common case.
The study is well put together, complex and leads the heroes on a merry chase. Plus watching them work together, learning to trust the other one deed after another, plotting together to finally put the other in the confidence of their past, their wins and losses.
Can’t wait to read more about those two, how they will on a regular basis investigate together and how will their relationship evolve over time.

The Case of the Copper King tells the story of Casey, a female detective and Quinn Morgan , a charming and handsome bounty hunter. They meet on a train while investigating the Huckabee Mining Company in Durango, a mining town where a murder and a theft Casey occurred. The heroine isn't afraid to have her hands dirty and prefers to wear a leather vest instead of a corset, which she finds too tight. Casey and Quinn are asked by the Pinkerton agency to solve this case, however these two cannot work together, they prefer to work alone. Since they are stuck together they might as well solve the murder and retrieve the money. By taking the roles of husband and wife, this situation will cause some funny scenes. As they spent time together, they started to have mutual feelings for each other!
I just love the way Quinn teases Casey! Embark on their journey of adventure, intrigue and a dash of romance, you won’t be disappointed. Will they solve the case?
Quinn Morgan sees Casey in a restaurant. Travels on the same train and arrives at the same meeting for her next job. She works alone but has to work with Quinn during this job.
What happens when two detectives who always work alone work together to get the job done? This is their story.
Great read, great storyline. Highly recommended.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this story. This story has a bit of everything: the Old West, Pinkerton Agents, Mystery, Murder, Robbery. The writer kept you wanting to know who did it and added in some fun and interesting clues to keep you on your toes. It was difficult to put down at times. I would highly recommend this story to others.
