Analayo is a professor of Buddhist Studies at the Sri Lanka International Academy in Pallekele. He teaches at the Center for Buddhist Studies of the University of Hamburg and researches at the Dharma Drum Buddhist College in Taiwan.

One more dry scholastic work of Bhikkhu Analayo, this time explaining and analyzing the situations of sickness and death confronted by lord Buddha and his closest disciples.
Taken from the Suttas which Analayo calls "Early Buddhism", the stories here translated and commented are certainly interesting and informative, but unfortunately the way Analayo approaches - although much less academic than his other two books -, make it dense and boring.
Analayo's books are not dedicated for practitioners but for those who enjoy highly technical academism.
I didn`t finish it.
