If you value your health you’re aware of “toxins” in our modern world. You’ve probably heard that many things are to be avoided: BPA, bottled water, Roundup sprayed on your food, parabans, phalates, Soy... the list goes on and on.
I knew I better avoid some of this stuff ... because wise companies often proudly display how their products are free of a few of things (while still being loaded with a bunch of the others).
I never came close to connecting the dots until reading this book. I now understand that these thing wreck havoc on most of our body’s systems by mimicking estrogen... and attaching to estrogen receptors all over. It makes us sick, fat, cancerous, and infertile.
The book was an enjoyable educational journey. Good measures of humor and stories to help drive the concepts home.
In the end I appreciated his Bronze and Silver plans. I think I can do 90-95% of the recommendations. My family’s long term health will most certainly benefit. We were getting a lot of this right and plenty of it wrong (fragrances, personal products, plastics, laundry, soy).
For the first time I feel equipped to do battle in the US marketplace, with a new ability to avoid most of the hazards.
After finally understanding this all we bought a $4,000 sauna to go with our stable of “better for you” products. (Detoxing is real and there are some very convincing studies about long term health benefits of saunas).
You may not wind up buying a sauna, but your health will thank you for buying and understanding this book.
Thanks Dr. Jay!
He finishes his book with a call to action; because only stating a problem without proposing a solution only adds to the problem. He acknowledges that it is impossible to completely rid yourself of estrogenics in our society, but you can take steps to greatly reduce exposure. When you read his book, your eyes will be opened and you will find yourself reading more labels than ever before. I have replaced my soaps, my plastic cutting board and how I store my food.
A little advice on how to read this book: take your time. Even though it is 220 pages, it could be a quick read, but then you don't retain as much for later chapters. I do not have a science background (I'm assuming most won't), so a lot of the concepts in this book were new to me. Even though there is a lot of scientific verbiage, Dr. Jay does a great job presenting it in a "layman's" terms kind of way, including anecdotes of his personal life. But I repeat, don't feel like you need to rush through it. Take your time. Mediate on this information and your future generations will be grateful.

Taking steps to eliminate estrogenics from my environment, diet, and the miseducation from the media about what is healthy.
This is a book I’m sure I will read multiple times and refer to often. Thank you, Rich Cooper for recommending this as I can see how it will benefit my family and I for years.
