Unparalleled, SMB blew open the doors to the videogaming world. With rich palettes of colour, eight four level worlds, spot-on play control, and expert level design, SMB was a much longer game than most of Atari's products and was a game unlike any other at that time. SMB also had the benefit of being very simple to grasp; run, jump, and fire. It was also the first side-sroller as we know it, though Atari's PITFALL set up the concept. Also, it's one of the best. Without SMB, NES wouldn't have been nearly as big a hit in the beginning. In the end, Nintendo came at the industry's key moment. With a powerful new console (for that time) and a very well-designed game, Nintendo resurrected video gaming. With its phenomenal success of the NES and SMB, the video game industry once again took off, becoming one of the world's most significant economical contributors.

Arrived earlier than expected and works amazing, though I found myself having to buy NES controllers. That's not really a bad thing, just annoying. Other than that, runs great, no faults at all. Recommend a good cleaning first before anything, just to make sure all the dust is out. Overall, good condition and would recommend this seller.

Product described as refurbished. Clearly this NES is not refurbished. I had a refurbished one in the past that worked quite well. The one I received works about as well as the one I had as a kid. It is quite difficult to get games to work on it. I have to blow on the cartridge like ten times and hit reset every time in hopes it will work.

When I first plugged this in, and tried booting up a game, I got the flashing blue screen I was so accustomed to. However, I cleaned the game, cleaned the inside of the console, and finally got it to work.

Different games have different levels of success, so that seems to be a problem with my game cartridges rather than the console.

The cables were packed a bit haphazardly, and very tangled. One of the controller's cables was unsheathed, revealing the 7 smaller wires inside (not a big deal for me, because I already had controllers). AV cable and power cable were fine.

When this arrived I was certain it wouldn't work. The NES was simply wrapped in some shrink wrap and tossed in an oversized box with a tiny bit of packing material. Knowing how rough packages are treated I knew this was banging and smashing around in transit. I was actually shocked that it turned on and worked.

The power adapter was bent and does not stay in the socket. I had to push a piece of furniture against it to keep it in the wall socket, but again it worked so I was OK with it. However when I went to play a game I found the D Pad on one of the controllers is completely non-functional. I tried different games as well as pushing hard and softly and nothing worked.

The other controller that came with the system worked fine which proved it's the single controller that is not working which was extremely disappointing considering the product was guaranteed to be tested and functioning.

I was very excited to receive this, a day early too! I ordered SMB 3 with it and tried to play. It flashed white on and off and when I pushed the game down it was just a white screen. I waited for another game to arrive and tried again, same thing. I tried the controller on a friend’s and it too didn’t work, A and B buttons maybe mashed too much previously. I am getting a full refund but just a heads up don’t get your hopes up as I know I was bothered.
