One of the Few Things Worth Remembering........

What a flash back to a period of rapid and sometimes hard changes in my life. To me this album and many of its songs are as good today as when I first heard them 40+ years ago. Randy Edelman was very representative of the song writers and singers of the day. I think he would have become more popular if he hadn’t unfortunately been up against the likes of Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond who were at their peak about the same time. Interestingly one of Barry Manilow’s hits was Weekend in New England written by Randy Edelman and on this album. Not to dispair Edelman went on to be one of biggest movie sound track composers with movies like Gettysburg, Last of the Mohicans, and Dragon Heart just to name a few of the dozens of Edelman works.

Farewell Fairbanks was one of my favourite vinyl albums on the 1970's. Sadly it was lent to someone and never returned. I was delighted to see that it had been released on CD. I was not disappointed. The songs brought back so many memories of that earlier time in my life. Randy Edelman is a unique singer, songwriter, storyteller. Highly recommended. His version of Concrete and Clay - best ever !!
Amazon - you need to get the correct spelling ! It's Farewell not Fairwell

I collect Randy Edelman's albums. This album contains many great songs like "YOU" and "Weekend in New England" .
Hopefully they'll release a CD Of Randy Edelman's album "ON TIME" .Contains my favorite song "Please Don't Stop Remembering".

I guess Randy Edelman is kind of my "guilty pleasure". Every since buying this album in a bargain bin in the 1970's I've loved it (can't wait for the rerelease of Prime Cuts).
I've always been a sucker for "pop" music and this album has it all. Its not Elton John but maybe he could have been if he'd kept producing albums like this. This is such an uplifting album - a real suns out, feel good CD. Play it loud on your way to work.
