I ordered these scissors at the end of December and according to the shipping details, I should have received them by the first few days of Jan. Then I noticed a sale in a local fabric store so I decided to purchase a second pair. Thank goodness I bought that second pair! I used these scissors to snip a rag quilt and as all the blogs have suggested, these scissors were a hand saver! They have also become my favorite pair to keep next to my machine to snip threads as I go.

Every few days I would check on the shipping to see the status of my original pair I ordered. According to the USPS website, my scissors stayed in the middle of the country for over three weeks. I should have received them by Jan 3rd. On Jan 14th, they made it to the state I live in, and almost two weeks later, they finally arrived the last week of Jan, almost five weeks after I ordered them.

By the time they arrived, I had long finished the quilt I originally purchased them for. And there were no snow storms across my state throughout the month to delay the delivery. Before I order without Amazon Prime in the future, I will think twice if I am willing to wait so long for USPS. That was very, very frustrating to track my package for five weeks, and to find that the USPS website was not accurate, per my calls to my local town office, who could find out better info than I could on the public website.

Ich baue gerade einen Kastenwagen zum Minicamper aus. Ein wichtiger Aspekt für mich war dabei, die "unschönen" Lackstellen im Innenraum, wo die Vorbesitzer nicht ganz so achtsam beim beladen waren, schön zu verkleiden. Auf geraden Flächen, also Seitenwände und Himme, habe ich Wandpannele aus dem Baumarkt benutzt, aber für Holme, Hecktüren oder Schiebetüren ist das nichts. Hier habe ich Filz (sog. 4-Wege-Filz, der in alle Richtungen dehnbar ist) mit Sprühkleber verklebt.

Nun ist aber dieser dehnbare Filz echt nicht schön zu schneiden, da er sich, sobald z.B. ein Cutter nicht mehr ganz frisch ist (was nach ca 1m Schnitt der Fall ist), gerne mal verzieht. Auch wenn er aufgeklebt ist, und man die Überstände sauber und gerade abschneiden möchte, geht das gerade noch so auf geraden Flächen. Sobald man aber um Kurven schneidet oder kleine Ecken wie z.B. an den Türgriffen, Scharnieren, Kabelführungen etc. anstehen, ist ein Cutter sehr unpraktisch.

Hier kam diese Schere zum Einsatz und sie ist wirklich unfassbar scharf und bleibt es auch. Kleine fitzelige Stellen sind überhaupt kein Problem mehr und ich konnte die ganze Bahn vorher gerade und sauber zuschneiden. Jetzt ist alles fertig und sie ist immer noch scharf. Ein großartiges Produkt für alle, die schwere Stoffe, Pappe oder einfach alles, was dicker als Papier ist, sauber schneiden möchten.

Mit der schmalen Spitze kommt man auch an die schwierigsten Stellen und die Schere ist an jeder Stelle scharf. Ich kenne von großen Stoffscheren, dass man mit weit geöffneten Klingen hinten ansetzen muss, um die optimale Schnittkraft zu erhalten, die hier schneidet auch an den vorderen 5 Millimetern der Klingen schon hervorragend, ohne sich zu verkanten oder die Klingen gegeneinander zu verschieben.

Natürlich ist die Schere mit ihrer Größe nichts für das dauernde Zuschneiden großer Stücke, dafür ist sie zu klein und man schnibbelt sich dämlich. Trotzdem liegt sie ganz gut in der Hand und wegen der Schärfe braucht man auch nicht viel Kraft, daher fällt die Größe und, dass man nur zwei Finger nutzen kann, nicht so sehr ins Gewicht und bleibt ermüdungsfrei.

These are lovely scissors in the hand & to use.
I bought them to use only on myself for general hair-snipping, personal grooming type things (not nails though), & I'm glad I did.
Excellent, but being what they are you'd better have your glasses on & be concentrating 100%.
Having big hands anyway, my recent inheritance of arthritic bumpy knuckles were making handling standard grooming scissors a real chore to use.. I'd just had enough.
I wasn't even aware that squeezy scissors existed until by chance I saw a picture of a pair being used.
These are very neat, sit comfortably in the palm & with short enough blades to be really accurate & usable.. They have that pleasing feeling a good quality small pair of wire snips has.
There's a built-in soft grip covering on the grip-side of the handles.
They are lightly spring-loaded with a small thumb clip to lock the handles closed.
The blades are a decent hefty quality/thickness but not in the slightest bit lumpen.. They really handle like something much smaller.
It took me a few uses to get comfortable working with these scissors, using extreme caution as my guide, as these blades have seriously sharp & accurate points.
I know it's obvious but I think it's worth noting, that especially with the hand power of the grip being used to do the cutting rather than mainly finger power, skin will be snipped just as easily & smoothly as hair will, the scissors will not miss a beat..
No, I'm not saying these things would prepare a chicken carcass but I am saying you could butcher yourself right enough unless you're being really careful.. I mean these things are sharp & I certainly wouldn't be using this type of scissors for what I'm using them for if choice was on my side!
As the stamped blade says "Fiskars Made in Finland", the quality speaks for itself.
I get the impression that if I take care of these scissors, ie. only used by me for what they were bought for & remaining hidden from my loved ones cutting of paper/tape/emery boards/cardboard etc & of course I don't do myself a mischief in the meantime, I'll be well satisfied with these scissors for many years to come.
