This all-purpose formula effectively bonds, repairs, seals, mends and secures glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, Silicone resin, Vulcanized silicone rubber, Ceramic, Natural and synthetic fibers, Painted surfaces weather stripping and vinyl tops. While also protecting and repairing electrical wiring and may be applied to horizontal or vertical surfaces. Permatex Clear Silicone Adhesive Sealant is Waterproof and Flexible with a Temperature Range -75° Fahrenheit To 400° Fahrenheit (-59°C To 204°C).       Not much to say. It's a clear silicone sealant/gel in a tube. You squeeze it where you want it; you smooth out/wipe off the excess; it smells like vinegar for a while and cures at room temperature (RTV = Room Temperature Vulcanizing) to a clear, rubbery, waterproof finish. Like any other silicone sealant (not to be confused with "siliconized" acrylic), it won't take paint, so pick a color that's close to what you're working on. Clear works in most situations.

      I don't bother with the cap after I open the tube. I leave the nozzle in place and thread a tight-fitting screw into the nozzle hole. It doesn't dry out; I don't have to clean out the nozzle each time and there's no waste.

      Purchased for outdoor use. It works for a variety of connections and seals which did work, but it began to leak after one year when I used it to plug a leak on the inside of a HDPE rainbarrel. There we no way to apply on the inside when the barrel was full, and when 500 pounds of water got inside, the crack widened and, eventually, the RTV began to allow seepage. Not a catastrphic failure, but not a complete success. At least with the seal on the inside, the water pressure pushed the RTV into the crack, so it lasted for a year (looking on the bright side)

      Ich habe den Permatex Clear Silicone Adhesive für eine kleine Reparatur im Außenbereich verwendet (Plastik auf Holzverkleidung geklebt und wasserdichtes isolieren von Niedervolt Elektrik) und bin wirklich zufrieden. Die Haftung ist sehr stark, der Kleber ließ sich gut auftragen und trocknet klar aus – man sieht also später fast nichts von der Klebestelle.

      Auch nach einigen Wochen im Freien mit Sonne, Hitze, Schwüle, Kälte und Regen hält alles noch fest, ohne dass sich etwas löst (Nackeltest wird immernoch bestanden). Ideal für Bastelarbeiten, Reparaturen oder Anwendungen, bei denen man eine dauerhafte und wetterbeständige Verbindung braucht.

      Fazit: Klebt hervorragend, ist transparent und zuverlässig – genau das, was man sich von einem guten Silikonkleber wünscht! Ich kannte den Hersteller nicht bin aber überzeugt!
