Though the label (light blue) is different, the flavor seems the same as the old blue label Postum, of which I have a few outdated bottles. But the texture seems different, powdery instead of granular. Perhaps that's what makes the new product harder to dissolve in hot milk, resulting in too many wet lumps instead of a smooth mixture.

So thankful to have found this again. I used to drink it years ago, but it slowly started being removed from all of the stores in my area and then I found out that it was no longer being made.

I absolutely love coffee, but have a caffeine intolerance and even minute amounts bother me terribly. It has been a journey for me trying to find something that actually resembles something that I would want to drink. I've tried Daisy blend and Teeccino, but neither one of those quite hit the spot that my body craved.

This has a very nice mellow yet rich flavor that really satisfies. I think it's a little pricey compared to what it was the last time I bought it, but I'm thinking double the price in 12 years isn't bad. Thankfully no one else in the family will drink this but me, so I think the price is reasonable for 75 servings. If I drink a cup a day this will last me two and a half months and I'm happy with that. This is a small luxury that I'm happy to pay for and I highly recommend this drink!

This is NOT the old fashioned postum! I just happen to have some in my storage. I tasted both. same amount of water but had to add more of the newer one to get ang flavor. Still weak on taste and it did not dissolve easily. Had clumps. Taste not the same. The real postum was a lot darker. For the price will definitely not buy again. The price is redulious. Don't recommend.

I read the reviews and still decided to purchase this item. I have been weaning myself off caffeine and was down to 1 cup a day of 1/2 caf.
The taste is pretty good. I use powdered creamer and a tsp of sugar. What's missing is that deep dark roast taste.
As far as not dissolving, well yea it takes an effort. If you keep a spoon nearby (I keep one in my cup) and stir before sipping, you'll see there is zero residue in the bottom of the cup when finished.

I remember drinking Postum as a child in my grandmother's kitchen. The smell of coffee brewing permeated the air and it was such a treat to drink Postum as I was not allowed to drink coffee. Grandma believed that drinking coffee would make a youngster's head hard. Which really meant you would feel you were grown and have to be put in your place.
I suppose my longing for Postum was based more on the emotional context then the actual taste. i also realize that I stopped drinking it because it gave me headaches (possible reaction to the wheat bran). So, although I will always have fond memories of my time consuming Postum I have to say it isn't as I remember it.

Not a bad drink. I don't think it tastes like coffee at all, but it's pretty good for what it is. There's a grain flavor it obviously, kind of like a beer/hops kind of taste. Personally I just prefer drinking a good decaf but if I had to have absolutely no caffeine, this would work. It's also kind of expensive for what you get vs. decaf coffee. Your choice.
