Nice HD Flasher for old truck towing a boat.

Great heavy duty flasher.

I have an older Ford truck and a small fishing boat, and when I hooked up my truck to the trailer (2 bulb lights on the trailer), the trailer lights would blink really fast, as if there was a bulb burned out somewhere on the rigs. Nothing was burnt out. But unplugging the trailer, the turn signals would flash normally.

Doing a little research, I found that I needed a heavy duty flasher, (item bought). That fixed the problem immediately. All my turn signals now flash like normal. Took all of 3 minutes to swap out the part.

Please note that some trucks have a different relay for the emergency flashers from the turn signal (as mine does). If when you turn your hazards on - you see them flashing too fast, then you need to replace that relay. However I wasn't experiencing that issue, but my turn signals were having issues.

Overall very pleased with this flasher.

Easy fix to enable use of LED turn signals

When upgrading from incandexcent bulbs to LED, and when you turn them on the turn signal is erratic/fast/or simply does not flash, you can fix the problem by adding ballast resistors to each of the four bulb locations or you can do what i did. I bought two of these heavy duty LED compatible flashers in place of my old units. when i put in the first unit, the fourway flasher, it worked perfectly. Then i replaced the turn signal flasher and was disappointed that the turn signal were erratic, Slightly sad that this did not work for turn signal, i read some blogs about others experiences with the units. One suggestion was to try the good working flasher in the turn signals. i moved that workiing flasher from the 4 way terminal to the turn signal location and tried the turn signals again This time they worked erfectly. Moved the other flasher to the four way terminal and it worked there where it would not in the turn signal . Bottom line is the both four way and turn signals are working perfectly SO FAR. Cheap fix i fit works out and much easier than ballast resistors.

Solved LED Lamp Problems

I installed LED tail lamps on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. The stock flasher would not work. When activated, the signal lights would stay on and not flash. This EL12, 2-prong flasher plugged right up and fixed the problem.

It does make a clicking sound to alert you that the signal is on but it is not very loud. Also, when you turn the signals off, they go off as they should and have no residual continued clicking.

The EL12 makes the signals work correctly without any resistors or "load equalizers."

This is NOT a flasher for an all LED setup. I installed all LED lights in my car. When I went to test out the signal lights the emergency flasher still worked but the factory turn signal flasher did not. I was expecting this and ordered the Novita EL12 Flasher with my new bulbs. I installed the Novita flasher and tested again. This time the turn signals flashed, slowly, but they flashed. Thinking I was all set, I went for a drive only to find my signals didn't flash with the car running. So while I'll bet this is a fine heavy duty flasher it did not work for my all LED set up. I have since purchase the United Pacific 12V Led Flasher - 2 Terminal, which does work as long as you get the polarity correct when installing :)

Didn't work for me

I installed this flasher along with LED bulbs front and rear in my 62 Impala, no flash. I then reinstalled the original bulbs in the front still no flash I then tried to reverse the polarity with short jumper wires no good. I ordered an electronic flasher (CEC Industries EF32RL Flasher) that required reverse polarity and an external ground it worked perfectly. I can't recommend this flasher not sure if the one I received was defective or what but did not work out for me.

This is too tall for a Ford Bronco II fuse panel

If you are trying to fit this into a fuse panel, make sure it is short enough. Amazon steered me to this product incorrectly. It was too tall for the fuse panel cover. So yes, the connectors fit and yes it flashed as it should, but it did not work in my truck. (note: rockauto.com also thought this was the right product for my truck, so it is easy to understand how Amazon could make that mistake)

Works for 91 Ford Ranger w/2 LEDs

Flasher works great for the turn signals on a 1991 Ford Ranger with 4 incandescent bulbs, and with 2 incandescent and 2 LEDs.

It did NOT work with 4 LED bulbs, so I left the front incandescent for now. I may try a different flasher in the future or add resistors to make this one work. Note, it was NOT advertised as LED-compatible, but I gave it a try anyway.

Clicker type signal flasher

An electromagnetic (relay) "clicker", as opposed to a thermal (bi-metallic) flasher. I like the "old style" slightly louder click, because my 24 year old turn signal switch does not always cancel reliably. Also tends to work better than a thermal flasher when a trailer with lights is plugged in.

These may (?) not work with LED replacement turn signals, although you can solve that problem by adding a loading resistor to the light-bulb circuit. The resistor(s) is available from many LED bulb sources.
