Casio
With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

In LOVE. I have an apple watch and while I love it, sometimes I just want to be “disconnected”. I spent so long looking for a watch that would be affordable and functional yet not look cheap. This watch is amazing. It’s comofrtable and looks chic either dressed up or dressed down. I love that I don’t have to bother with getting it adjusted at a jewelry store. I tried so many and returned them, I’m glad I gave this watch a chance. The dial is easy to read and I’m not paranoid about it getting scratched (as with other mineral casing watching I’ve had which have scratched up in a day). I love that it’s not your typical watch also. Love the retro feel. Just LOVE it. For reference I have a size 6” wrist.

I have some nicer watches and I still always come back to wear this watch 3-4 days a week. It does what a watch should do, tell accurate time in addition to fitting in to all situations you will find yourself in. I wear this watch to work and on every vacation I go on. I know it says 30m WR but it can do a lot better than that. I've worn it in the pool and the ocean without fail. Plus its $15 if you break it just get a new one. Also I'd recommend this one over the other options by casio. Sure the back light kinda sucks but I can still easily read the time at night so it does the job.

In all seriousness, this watch is very comfortable to wear, light, has an easy to read display, and the strap is easily adjustable after watching another reviewer's how-to video. (in a nutshell, you insert a small lever into the hole the arrow is pointing towards on the buckle, pry it open, adjust the buckle to where you want it, then snap it back shut)
Since this watch is basically the [[ASIN:B000GAWSDG Casio F91W-1 Classic Resin Strap Digital Sport Watch]] with a metal casing, the watch's backlight is just an LED and doesn't illuminate the whole watch face evenly like newer watches with the electroluminescent backlight. The light also only stays on while the button is pressed, so it's not like watches with the electroluminescent backlight where you can press the button once and the watch face stays lit for a few seconds. The watch face is still perfectly legible in the dark though when the light button is pressed.
The watch displays the day (monday-sunday) and the number date, but it doesn't display the month. However, it does ask you for the month when you first set the date, so you won't have to change the number date at the end of each month. The watch also gives you the option to easily switch between normal and military (24 hour) time at the push of a single button.
It's also important to note that the stopwatch feature only goes up to 59:59:99, (just short of an hour) and then the stopwatch will loop back to 0. However, I really never use the stopwatch feature, so this doesn't really bother me. The stopwatch can record two times, but can't save them. For example, if you start the stop watch and press the lap button, the stopwatch will freeze and show you the time. The stopwatch is still going in the background though, and if you press the button that starts the stopwatch again while it is displaying the first lap time, it will display the second lap time, but then you will not be able to view the first lap time again. If you press the lap button again, it will display the current time that was running in the background. I believe this is a pretty typical stopwatch, but I'm not sure because like I said, I really never use stopwatches.
The alarm is reasonably loud, and lasts 20 seconds or until the light button is pressed. I use this as an alarm clock to wake me up in the morning and to wake me up from naps. The watch also gives you the option of having it beep every hour which I use sometimes if I need to be conscious of the time while I'm doing something that is demanding my full attention.
The watch is water resistant, and for everyday wear, it is perfectly fine. The instructions say that not to press any buttons if it's under water though, I assume doing so would let water into the device. I wouldn't wear it swimming, but I started wearing this watch all the time and it is fine in the shower and for brief submersion in water.
Overall, it's a very clean, simple, watch that is a good value and should be very reliable and last a long time. It's not 100% perfect, but for the price, I have to give it 5 stars.

First off, I just have to say that this watch is very handsome for the price. I've loved watches for a long time, and used to collect diver and aviator watches. As my tastes changed over time, I began selling off almost all my watches to streamline my life. I have to say, there is something very attractive about a smaller watch. After wearing large watches for years, this one just sits on the wrist and you hardly notice it at all. It is very easy to adjust the band, and the time and date. You can figure it all out in about one minute without every opening up the manual. My only small complaint would be that I wish the front of the watch was also metal, and the duller color of the band was the same as the face. I don't like things being a bit too shiny, or chrome looking. Other than that, its a beautiful watch. I also appreciate that the bracelet on this watch is very thin. Many watches that have a metal bracelet are more than twice the thickness. I do know that they sell a slightly upgraded version, the A168 which has a much better lumination. The reason I chose this watch is because the A168 is visibly larger on the face, and thicker. I love the look and feel of the A158 a little bit better. You really can't go wrong with this watch, for under $20 its very good looking. Also, I wear it in a hands on job where things get scuffed and scratched all the time. It isn't worth wearing a nice watch in a hands on job. When I was looking for a work watch, I almost ended up with a G Shock. They might be stronger and can take more of a beating, but they're also so thick and large that you are going to hit them on stuff all the time anyways. I first had an F91W, which is essentially the same but with a resin strap, but I didn't like the loop on the watch band that always slides around. This metal bracelet is the best because once you snap it shut, it stays snug and nothing slides. Also, I wanted to note, some people complain about the band snagging arm hairs. This is true, it does occasional snag them, but it doesn't hurt much and its rare if the size is set right. If you set the bracelet with a lot of extra space and the watch spins on your wrist a lot, it is going to grab hairs a lot. My arms are pretty hairy, and it isn't a problem and rarely happens.

The piercing beeps of the alarm wake you from your reverie. You are standing behind the counter at the record store and the alarm means that your shift is over. You look down at the sleek clean lines of the high tech silver watch by Casio and it truly is five PM, quitting time. You shuffle a pile of Madonna and Tears for Fears albums out of the way, and grab up some junk to bring to the stock room. Cleaning up, you spill water on the watch, no matter, just a wipe with the towel and good as new. You check the time in the dim room using the handy backlight, not really the best but works in the dark, the darker the better. You are meeting everyone down at the arcade and don't want to be late.
Lately you have been using the stopwatch to time games on Pac-Man with the gang. You love being part of the future as Lionel Ritchie serenades you out of the store.....

Counterfeit item. Please read this review before purchasing.

I buy a lot of goods from Amazon, including Casio watches.
The product I received is a fake. The product is flimsy (I know this is a relatively inexpensive watch), however, it is cheap even by Casio standards. As far as I am aware, all Casio timepieces are sold with at least a box or sleeve - such as a velvet pouch. This product was in a flimsy plastic bag with no branding. The cardboard you can see in the photos is as crap as it really appears.
I wanted this watch as a complement to my collection of G-Shocks and other Casio watches, but this is going straight back to Amazon for a refund. For the record, after an extensive search I cannot find a page on Amazon to report counterfeit goods so hopefully, this review will serve as a warning to potential buyers not to buy this watch.
Save your money and get an authentic model!

For the record, after an extensive search I cannot find a page on Amazon to report counterfeit goods so hopefully, this review will serve as a warning to potential buyers not to buy this watch.
Save your money and get an authentic model!
