Fills minor surface irregularities. Seals instantly. Fills hots spots and surface imperfections. Resists all types of automotive fluids, especially gasoline.

Temperature Range: -50°F to 500°F (-45°C to 260°C) intermittent.

A Must Have for classic Copper Head Gasket Engine Rebuilds.

My engine building buddies and I have been using Permatex Copper Spay on copper head gaskets for some 30-40 years and it always works great, helping to seal the head(s) perfectly. This time I needed to replace the copper head gasket on a restored 1949 MG -TC I had purchased some 1,500 mi earlier because the head gasket was always leaking oil, and now water as well. With a new copper head gasket installed with Permatex sprayed on both sides, the head bolted down and torque properly, the cylinder head is now sealed to my standards of perfection and the engine runs great! Just a reminder that any solid copper head gasket needs the head bolts to be re-torqued about 1 hr after running-in, and then again after a few thousand miles.

Permatex 80697 Copper Spray-A-Gasket on an M20 engine

This is my first time using this product on the cylinder head gasket of an M20 engine. Once sprayed, it has the consistence of spray paint. I let it set for a few minutes and while still tacky, installed the cylinder head. I torqued the head down within 1/2 hour and fired up the engine a couple of days later. No leaks so far!!!

Great compliment for installing gaskets. Whether you're installing a new thermostat gasket, exhaust flange gasket, this stuff will help make that extra amount of seal. It also helps some of the paper type gaskets stay in place. Unlike one of the other reviewers, mine came with the cap, and spray nozzle as expected. No complaints so far.

Works awesome as a gasket tack adhesive. Spray it on the gasket. Let it dry, then stick the gasket where it belongs and it will usually stay put during installation. I also use this on all head gasket installations. Never had a leak.
