Sunbeam Heritage Series Hand Mixer

Combining classic charm with modern innovation, this Heritage Series hand mixer by Sunbeam comes loaded with features that make it a must-have for those who love to cook and bake, whether it's grandma's time-tested recipes or creating new family favorites.

6 Speeds & Burst of Power

Equipped with a powerful 250-watt motor, the efficient handheld mixer creates yummy cookie dough, blends cake mix, turns cream into whipped topping, whips mashed potatoes to light and fluffy perfection, and much more. Making a cake with chocolate sprinkles for the birthday girl? Time for holiday cookies galore? Need creamy dips for that Saturday night soiree? No problem. The Sunbeam Heritage hand mixer keeps up with almost all your mixing needs--even some of those typically handled by a stand mixer.

Choose from six speed settings for stirring, mixing, blending, beating, or whipping. For an extra dose of oomph at any speed, press the Burst of Power button to work through those tough spots.

Ergonomic Design

The mixer's soft-grip open handle features an ergonomic design that provides comfort and helps prevent hand fatigue during heavy or long mixing tasks. Controls on the handle ensure easy thumb-activated access to switching the speed and for activating the Power Boost function. The speed-control lever also doubles as the beater-eject button for easy beater removal, and when it's time to set the mixer down on the table or counter, its flat heel rest provides exceptional stability.

Sleek Storage System

The mixer's space-saving storage stand makes it practically a vision of modern art, keeping everything on vertical display. The stand provides a center compartment for the mixer, placeholders on either side for the chrome beaters, and open space underneath to neatly tuck the cord out of sight. With all pieces stored away, the compact unit takes up minimal counter space, whether left out on display or placed in a cupboard or cabinet.

Timeless Elegance

The Sunbeam Heritage Series hand mixer comes in a variety of colors, including red (model 2560), black (model 2561), white (model 2562), and Silver (model 3156), each with sleek black accents, a Heritage Series badge, and a chromed hubcap complete with the Sunbeam logo.

Delivering powerful, reliable mixing, the Sunbeam Heritage hand mixer makes a thoughtful housewarming or wedding gift idea. It's perfect for those who love to entertain and for baking enthusiasts--serious or just starting out.

Low speed too fast; don't use dough hooks

Low speed too fast; don't use dough hooks
Biggest problem with this mixer is that the low speed is way too fast. Makes a mess of whipping cream, powdered sugar, etc. Another issue, potentially worse, are the optional dough hooks designed for this mixer, which we purchased directly from Sunbeam. My wife has used them twice, and noticed that while mixing dough for cinnamon rolls, the dough was creeping up the hook shafts and into the body of the mixer. See photo in "customer images" of the amount of dried dough we had to clean out of the mixer. Design flaw. Don't like the nylon gears inside, either.

Bought this as a replacement for my old Sunbeam hand mixer (slightly lower watt motor than this one) that lasted me for 5 years. I tend to burn out mixers pretty quickly with the shear amount of baking I do, so that Sunbeam was the longest lasting one I'd ever owned. When I went to replace it, I looked for another comparable Sunbeam mixer and found this one. While this one comes with fewer beaters (only the one set) I found that I never actually used all the other beaters with my old hand mixer anyway, so I didn't mind. The stand this comes with is effective, and kind of cute with the beaters in it. Looks a bit like a little mixer robot sitting on my counter if turned the right direction. Fairly unobtrusive space wise, and easy to wind the cord under the stand base so it's tucked out of sight. Note that this does NOT have a retractable cord- which is a plus in my book, since those always seem to break and stop retracting or get bent too much to work. This has a nice sturdy black cord, easy to clean off in one swipe of a paper towel if it gets flour on it. Love the red color, since my microwave and electric kettle are both red. Be aware, this is not a metallic red, but rather a slightly more subdued burgundy. Still, it goes well with the other reds in my kitchen.

Great handling in thick dough, even good for novices (two of my friends had never used a hand mixer before and I gave them a 30 second lesson and off they went! They even managed not to splatter any dough on the walls). I noticed in some of the reviews people complained about how hard it was to get the beaters out of the mixer - I think they're probably missing the fact that the speed control lever is also a release button that you just press in, and the beaters pop right out. There is a tiny icon on the side of the button that tries to indicate this, but people miss tiny icons. The button release was the same on my old mixer, so I was delighted to find there was nothing new I needed to learn with this one. Good motor, good speed variation; great for cookie dough, frosting, muffins, and quick breads (that I've personally tested so far). Here's hoping this one lasts me just as long as, if not longer, than my last Sunbeam mixer!

I purchased this mixer because I needed a hand mixer. I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer but there are times when you need a small hand mixer to use at stove top. I thought this worked great. I love it. I know some have said they had problems getting the mixing blades disconnected from the mixer but I did not have any problems with that. I thought the instructions explained removing them just fine. The speed of the machine was fine. Unless something should come along down road to change my opinion I love it and would certainly recommend it. The only thing I would say as against it, is the holder it comes in is a little flimsy and light weight, otherwise it is great hand mixer.

First there is no slow or medium spead on this, however that is not the biggest issue with this product, Sunbeam makes a good product but after 60 days of use and only a few runs with this product I discovered that to put the tools on the beaters the part you place it is very deep, it catches all the food or what ever you are mixing and is very hard to get out. when beating cookie dough and bread dough I discovered it is impossible to get it all out making for a very unsterile and germy product. also food gets deep inside the device and gets on the plastic gears that probably cost less then five cents. they are made of plactic and the turbine that turns it is medal. the dough hardens on the gears and becaues they are plastic the gears strip really easy due to the medal piece that turnes them. The device starts running hot. when you open it up it is a pietry dish full of food and gunk that gets in due to the deep shafts that the beaters go into and that the majority of the inside is all hollow. I like Sunbeam and I love amazon but this paticular product I cannot recomend and seriously have to say it has many flaws thaty ou do not catch to later on.

I really like this mixer. I had a Sunbeam in the past and used it until it died after years of faithful service.

I had read the other reviews on hand mixers and it was a difficult choice based on what people were saying. This mixer got bad reviews due to the beater release. Most people said it was too hard to get them removed or they wouldn't remove at all. I discovered that pressing on the middle of the button pops them right out with no difficulty, but pressing on the top of the switch won't release them. Once I discovered the magic of where to press, it was easy.

I bought this mixer because I couldn't find replacement beaters (they rusted through) for the GE mixer I have had for years. I didn't want to have to buy a whole new mixer, but after much investigation, determined that it was just as cheap to buy a new mixer as it was to buy just the beaters through a replacement.

I give this mixer 5 stars because it has good solid power - I beat bread dough before mixing in the last of the flour (which I always mix by hand) - and I wanted the booster. I use it mainly to mix batters, custards for pies, mashed potatoes with cream cheese and cheese, cream butter and sugar for cookie dough, and the like. I do not use it to mix cookie dough when putting in flour (mix by hand for better cookies), cake batter (use a whip for better cake) or really thick batter of any kind, so cannot attest to how it would hold up under these conditions. But for the mixing I do, this mixer is great and holds up to the Sunbeam trademark.

This is a very nice mixer. I like the fact the stand holds the mixer and the beaters, so you don't have to go looking for the beaters in the drawer. You will have them all together. It is compact so it doesn't take up much room on your counter. I love the variety of speeds. It does a real nice job at mixing. I would highly recommend.
