at first i was skeptical about an electric violin. i know nothing about violins period. so i had a buddy come over, set up the bridge, tune it up and he was amazed at the sound it made. he liked it so good he wanted one for himself. be cautioned, the violin is not put together when you get it, you have to put the bridge on yourself and tune it yourself. does not include a tuner. didnt include any kind of instructions on how to set the thing up, so get to know a violinist if you decide to order one of these

I did not except this is good instrument which mean this is not professional instrument.
But I bought this because it is perfect for the people who playing electronic violin first time.
I been playing classic violin more than 10yrs and it works well for me if you change the cheap strings to dominant strings and $70+ bow will make much more good quality of sound. Bad thing was they are not including KUN so that I need to use old one from my other violin, also very hard time with set up on chein rest because it keep sliped and they don't include chein rest joint tool :( and last thing that paints on violin keep falling down so violin gets ugly.

I bought this knowing I was going to have to modify it. My violin teacher was ecstatic seeing this particular one because he'd never been exposed to electrics, lol. If you're willing to remove the old parts and add new ones, by all means, this violin is perfect for that! So this is pretty much what I've done so far:
    Parts modified/replaced:
    - Shoulder rest sat WAY too low for any normal human being, so it was replaced with a Resonans shoulder rest. It has to be set a little differently so that it doesn't keep slipping or falling off the violin.
    - Bridge was WAY too high, so I bought a medium bridge. The strings are a bit more tolerable now.
    - I had my teacher add peg drops to the tuning pegs so now the slipping problem and lack of staying in tune has disappeared. I've even had this violin sitting in my closet for a couple years (partially lost interest in playing) and the strings barely needed any tuning.
    - The rosin that came with this broke quickly, so just go ahead and replace it with some good $15-20 rosin. Your bow will thank you.
    - The earbuds that came with this were viable (better than the cheap ones Cecilio gives you), but I managed to break one of them, so I've since used my nice headphones with it instead, lol.

I'm debating on replacing the chin rest because after awhile it gets uncomfortable. I've also debated on the strings, but since they haven't broken yet (and I've had this violin since 2011), I'm not bothering. I've also debated with replacing the fingerboard because it's a bit low, imho, but I'm not sure how I'd even begin to try to pry it off. I also haven't had to change the battery yet despite it having sat in the closet for a couple years. I only turn it on when I've got the violin hooked up to an amp and turn it off when I'm finished playing. By the way, the cable will weigh the violin down, so be prepared for that. I'm really thankful that there is a headphone jack because it makes it a bit easier when you're trying to practice at night or tune it without an amp. The electronics seem to hold up better than the Cecilio brand because I've yet to have any ticking noises and again, I've had this thing since 2011! I think it helps that I've taken good care of it. I've also been wiping the rosin off of the strings every time I practice so the strings still sound just as good as the first day I got this in the mail.

So in short, if you're willing to put some work into this violin, it's completely worth it, especially for a first time player. I ended up getting this for just under $55, so for that low of price, you should be willing to pour a little bit into it.

The electric violin when it arrived was not what I really expected. The sound quality is poor and functionality is not good.
