Now to address all of the confusion about gaskets leaking, you MUST use the right gasket for your application.
1996 Bronco and 96 up F series with E4Od with the original trans pan should have used this gasket.
If your trans pan says "pan is equipped with a reusable gasket" this is the one you need.
You can NOT use this gasket on earlier model E4ODs UNLESS you have an aftermarket replacement trans pan that accommodates this gasket.
This is how you can tell:
Look at the rail of the trans pan where the 20 bolts go through. If this rail has a completely smooth surface where it contacts the transmission body this gasket will fit correctly.
If your trans pan rail has a raised rib between the bolts and each bolt hole has a raised area encircling the hole you need to use a paper,cork or neoprene/cork type gasket.
Also, make sure your pan rails are flat and smooth. they sometimes warp and get wavy by over tightening the bolts or prying on the pan to get it to drain.
Also worth noting is that 2wd trucks left factory with shallow pans and 4wd trucks have deep pans. Make sure you get the correct trans filter for your pan. But, a lot of 2wd trucks may have a replacement pan of which most of them are the deep pan variety.
Almost all of the filters come with a paper,cork or neoprene/cork type gasket.
