Dorman 38641 Tailgate Hinge Insert Kit

1995 Ford F150 ...original tailgate plastic insert finally broke on the right (passenger) side,... left side must have been gone for years, didn't really know there was a bushing on the left... anyway, had this kit installed the next day for under $10 ...install was easy, the F150 used 2 of the 4 pieces included in the kit (see pics). i guess the only trick was heating up the tabs on the R/H piece so they are pliable enough to push in (i used a lighter! ...didn't have my heat gun, and even that worked fine). -good repair kit for my F150

For the money, this wasn’t worth the price, said it would fit my 1998 Ram 2500 extra cab truck, trying installing, product wouldn’t work (with the one cap In tailgate, other on truck, tailgate would not fit over mount with the plastic piece on it). Was only able to fix one (1) cap in tailgate, and one (1) insert on truck mount other end. So, this product was either designed, manufactured wrong, just poor quality product, would not buy again from this company. Can’t ship back because I broken the one (1) insert taking it out. In photo you can see it in 3 pieces. Also you can see out if the four (4) items in kit, was only able to use two (2) and you can see in photo what I couldn’t use.
