    I finally decided to buy this guitar since I had been eyeing it for a while. The price Amazon had it at was quite good, definitely better than other places. I ordered it on Friday (Dec 20th) and it was here next day with my Prime membership! Very nice surprise since I was very nervous about it sitting around on my porch on Monday while at work.

    Anyhow, the guitar showed up in great condition! Oh, but I do HIGHLY recommend adding the "this is a gift" option so they cover up the box. Otherwise it's pretty obvious what's in there with the big Schecter logo on the box. Again, if it's left on a porch there's too much risk for theft. But mine was covered in dark plastic which was perfect. The guitar was boxed very well and it was very secure and in perfect condition.

    It is gorgeous and sounds great! I'm pretty "new" at guitar since I haven't played in many years but this guitar felt great! Though it's Floyd Rose and a pain to tune, once it is tuned it stays that way quite well!

    Overall very pleased and happy with my purchase. Had never purchased a musical instrument through Amazon, but wouldn't hesitate to buy one again in the future! :-)

    i recieved my schecter synyster gates standard electric guitar one day before the estimated date of arrival.. it was perfectly packed and in quite good conditions.. the guitar has performed well in every aspect i have tested it and i have to say.. i'm looking forward to buy again a schecter guitar by amazon..
    the humbuckers are seymour duncan detonators and perform very well.. the "humbucker/single-coil" switch gives a full change of tone in all three positions.. and the tone controller has a very radical change from high equalization to low equalization for all the six modes in wich you can set the pickups with the "humbucker/single-coil" switch.. even with a very specific equalization in your amp.. you can get a smooth acoustic sound using the "single coil" switch on and the tone controller near to half with the pickup selector in the neck pickup..
    the schecter synyster gates standard electric guitar has a great versatility.. given its look you can think that is a heavy metal guitar but given its huge window for sound setting, you can even use it for blues, soft rock, a little jazz, even country music, i have actually done that, ballads and almost every thing you want if you know how to set up your amp as well..

    I'm making an update on my review from before. At first when I got the item, I thought it was just two broken strings. I've taken it to get fix today and there are multiple issues that I didn't realize since I'm not a guitar player looking at it from first glance. All the strings need replacing, there's a lose part, and another part that was not installed properly.

    I bought this guitar because I wanted to learn to play the guitar and because avenged sevenfold is one of my most favorite bands.

    The good - It looks freaking awesome! To me it's shape and paint job combined with the synyster/a7x details are a home run. It is comfortable to hold. It does play and sound very good (I think you would refer to that as it's action).

    The bad. If you've never played before and are a complete novice and perhaps idiot like me you may end up breaking some strings in the first hour that you have it. The floyd rose tremolo styled bridge is an awesome feature but can cause the guitar to go out of tune easily. It is also a bit complicated to tune it compared to a more basic guitar because of the "whammy bar" styled bridge. Another problem I have, and it totally might just be user error on my part, is when ever I pick my low e strong it buzzes I suppose because it's hitting the fret board.

    But anyway, if you know what you're doing with guitars go for it I say. And if you're a noob still go for it but I'd recommend taking it to someone who can teach you more about tuning it and replacing strings on it, stuff like that

This piece has the original Floyd Rose whammy, and my only possible complaint is that it is very difficult to tune.     My son decided 4 days before his birthday that this is what he wanted me to contribute to. It was Saturday and his birthday was Wednesday. I explained that i would order it for him but it wouldn't be here for his birthday. However it turned up on Tuesday so very impressed with the seller. The Schecter is a beautiful guitar, always sounds in perfect tune, looks very stylish and is an ideal weight. We also have a vintage in the family and that is far too heavy.
