The breeder I got my puppy from told me that this is an excellent product to start giving your puppy at a young age in small doses mixed with their food. As they grow you gradually increase the amount you give them. It has so many health benefits not only for humans but for dogs. I cannot speak for cats as I do not have any but I do know that with my English mastiff cane Corso mix puppy I have been giving this to her since she was eight weeks old. I am seeing no bad side effects and it is in a powder form which makes it very easy to measure out and Sprinkle into her food. The breeder is Very well respected for 20 years now so I have no issues following her dietary recommendations. My puppy has no issues eating it there’s no odor in there that doesn’t appear to be any flavor as well I tested it myself.

We really like this product as it is easy on the stomach, mixes well, and when taken in high enough doses WILL eliminate a virus, cold from taking over. Have used this for a number of years and always works. We have found that adding just a small amount of Swanson's Energy C with electrolytes and stevia will improve the taste of taking large doses.

The information on Amazon says that 1/3 teaspoon is the adult dosage. There is also a person answering a question saying that 1/8 tsp equals 1,500 mg. Both are entirely false. The dosage on the bottle I received says 2/3 teaspoon is serving and it equals 1,500mg. I am going to keep it because I just ran out of another vitamin C powder but now I will be using this bottle up twice as fast as expected! Not happy. I sure hope this tastes good because I am going to be using a lot more powder than represented.

Taste good but form rock after

The taste is ok. But I won't be buying again. Its as hard as a rock. I have to keep hitting the bottle to get powder. I think I wasted my money. I have it stored on my kitchen shelf and the place is cool so I don't know how come it get hard. I received it in powder form, won't like but after a month this is how it looks in the picture

Actually planned to reorder the capsule form...Oops! Anyway, it's a dark, coarse powder easy to measure and blend. It's NOT bulk absorbic acid (which is white, grainy, tough to dissolve and hard on the stomach.) All three have different uses, this one is best for instant blending. BTW, this Ester C product also includes calcium. Knocked off 1 star only because of the price, not the product. If you don't have the time or means for a more complex high Vit. C therapy, Ester C is the answer.

I think it's giving me joint problems with a sore left shoulder. It happened just 2 days after I started taking this. I took less than 1/4 teaspoon per day mixed with orange juice. I can't return it, but I thought I would warn anyone who might have a sensitivity to bioflavonoids. I've taken Ester-C in tablet form without any problems, but never with bioflavonoids. I couldn't find the powder form without bioflavonoids.

Update: I contacted American Health from their web site and let them know about my joint pain reaction. They asked me to call back with more information. They don't plan on selling the powder without the citrus bioflavenoids, but are letting me send it back for a full refund. Can't complain. I continue to take the EC capsules without citrus bioflavenoids and no side effects.
