What can I say. It is as advertised. Works kinda great, looks good and sounds good. However, ...... There are some disappointments with this radio. First, it isn't as sensitive as a scanner for starters. For example on the Air Band, and using the same Antenna, I can pick-up Trinidad Air Traffic Control from Barbados (there is a Repeater around somewhere) at S5 on my Uniden BC355C, the BC75XLT and the Whistler WS1025. On the 750, can hear the Air Traffic, not ATC. Prior to receiving the 750 I built an elaborate long wire antenna. It worked when I connected it, but only on certain bands, so it was back to the drawing board. Messed around a bit and came up with one that worked better. No noise and very good signal strength on the established million watt output Stations like Radio Havana, China Radio International etc. However, on the lower powered Transmitters like Ham Radio Stations (7/14 /21 MHz) and Aeronautical Stations on 5.598 6.628 8.825 13.306 17.952 the signal strength still isn't as good as hoped for. I bought the radio to listen specifically to the Aeronautical Stations. Anyway, I ended up with three Antennas connected to a Coaxial Antenna Switch, see Link below. They are cut at Quarter Wavelength. The first is 35 feet which will cover the lower end frequency of 6 MHz. This length is also resonant at 13 MHz, as 35 feet is Half Wavelength. The second is 26 feet and covers 8 MHz. This length is also resonant at 18 MHz, as 26 feet is Half Wavelength. The third is 17 feet which will cover 13 MHz. This length is also resonant at 27 MHz, as 17 feet is also Half Wavelength. So the three Antennas together would cover as low as 5 MHz, all the way through 17 MHz and 27/28 MHz is you want to listen to CB'ers and Hams. But this will only work conveniently if you have the Switcher. It should be noted that the lengths mentioned are actually doubled, as one length is connected to the Centre Core of the Coax Feeder Cable and the other to the shield (Dipole). So the Antenna for 6 MHz is actually 70' long, 52' & 34' respectively. The 750 will suffice in most situations I guess, but I think if you are looking for top quality reception you should try purchasing a Ham rig if you are allowed to, or spend a few more bucks and try the Icom R75 General Coverage Receiver. There is a Link below. If I get my 750 sold, I will get a R75. Things can't get worse, hopefully. As for the Antennas, you can use 14 - 18 gauge speaker wire which should be easy to find. If however you can find something more sturdy, like 14 AWG electrical wire, use it. The speaker wire is going to stretch under it's own weight, and without doubt the copper strands will break and you won't even know it. You'll just see the Antenna getting longer and longer. No, I'm not speaking from personal experience. Okay, so I'm a liar, shoot me! The Antennas should be fed to the Receiver/Coaxial Switcher by 50 ohm coax cable. Keep the cable as short as you can. The AM & FM Bands work fine. Happy DXing. RCA AH18100N 100 feet 18-Gauge Speaker Wire Rca AH14100SR 14-Gauge Speaker Wire (100 feet)1 Workman CX-3 3 Position COAX Antenna SWITCH 1000 W - CB / Ham Radio w/ 3 Foot Jumper! Icom R75 HF Radio Scanner UPDATE: 7 April 2016 As mentioned above, wasn't all that happy with the reception quality I was getting on the Aeronautical frequencies, so I went and bought a Dipole Antenna used by Hams, as well as a Receiver also used by Hams. The radio, Alinco DX-R8T, is just about the same as a Transceiver model that they make, only with the Transmit circuitry removed, so the Receive specifications are the same. So I went from a $284 Grundig to a $460 Alinco. Actually with Air Freight, Customs Duty and a 13.8v Power Supply, it ended up around $770.00 With the two radios side by side and on the same Antenna, I am yet to hear a difference. Signal strengths are the same, readability the same. The Grundig is actually quieter when there is no signal, there is a lot less "white" noise. Guess the Grundig is better than I thought. Anyone looking to buy an Alinco? :-)

The Grundig Satellit 750 is an excellent radio. Ive only owned mine for a few days short of a month, so I should say that I am still learning how to use all the features that it has. Reception of AM, FM & Shortwave is exceptional. AM with the rotatable antenna, FM & Shortwave with the very impressive telescopic antenna. I also have a very nice outdoor 40+ foot long-wire antenna hooked up to the shortwave and I must say that the built in telescopic antenna performs nearly as well as the long-wire. (I can't say the same for other shortwave receivers I own, but the Grundig's telescopic antenna is THAT GOOD).
Sensitivity and reception is excellent on this radio. Equally impressive is control feel (sturdy & smooth), sound quality (excellent) and overall build quality. I waited for months for the Grundig 750 Satellit to come in and it was well worth the wait. I must also say that Eton/Grundig customer service is excellent as their friendly staff is always helpful.
The first 750 Satellit I received arrived in an open box (seals were broken) and the owner's manual was clearly been used. I called Eton/Grundig and spoke to a tech specialist and he verfied that the box should have had the seals intact and when I asked him what he would do, he didn't hesitate to say that if it were him he would return it. Explaining that I purchased a "new" radio and should not accept an open box. Taking his advice, I returned the unit to Amazon (who were sold out at that time) but fortunately I found another major retailer that had some just arrive in stock.
My present Grundig Satellit 750 arrived quickly and in perfect condition in a sealed box, and I eagerly installed the 4 "D" cell alkaline batteries and begain enjoying my new receiver. Owning other shortwave receivers, I must say I am amazed at how many shortwave broadcasts this receiver pulls in with its telescopic antenna. Still, since I keep this unit on my desk next to my computer monitor, I do keep it hooked up to one of my long-wire antennas. A nice feature is a switch on the right side so you can easily switch between an external antenna (such as my long-wire) and the internal (telescopic antenna). The rotatable AM antenna is also a very, very nice feature and it certainly pulls in far away AM stations with ease as well.
As I previously stated, I'm still learning how to use all of the wonderful features of this Grundig (such as programming in stations to the pre-sets. I may call Eton/Grundig tech support for help with that) but what I have learned is what a wonderful and well-built receiver the Satellit 750 is.
Since these are not inexpensive units (I paid $248.99 for mine), I personally recommend looking into an extended warranty if available. Fortunately the retailer I purchased mine from offered a 3 year warranty that even covers accidental damage from drops or spills, at a very resonable cost, so I did not hesitate to purchase the extended warranty.
I am extremely pleased with the Grundig Satellit 750 receiver, and Eton/Grundig customer service. In fact I am enjoying mine so much I considered purchasing another as a Christmas gift for my father-in-law, as I think he would enjoy hearing broadcasts from around the world, not to mention the great reception of local and not-so-local AM & FM broadcasts.
Although I still enjoy my old fashioned Realistic DX-100 shortwave receiver, and my other shortwave radios, I must say that overall the Grundig Satellit 750 is the best receiver I've ever owned. It would not be my first choice if I was looking for a truly portable radio, but it is certainly my first choice when looking for a receiver with the best overall performance (you can carry it around, it even has a carrying handle, but it is rather big and with 4 "D" cell batteries installed, rather heavy as well). In any case, it looks great on my desk (my trusty DX-100, and my very portable and exceptional performing Radio Shack 20-629 receiver) sit on my file cabinet right beside it.
I highly recommend the Grundig 750 Satellit. In my opinion they are worth every penny of their MSRP. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one again.

First let me say that the Grundig Satellit 750 is a great all round AM/FM/SW/AIR band tabletop receiver for the living room, bedroom or office.

I've been an active shortwave listener for many years and have used a number of different receivers over the years and still use my ICOM IC-R75 general coverage receiver. However, most tabletop general coverage receivers only cover the AM & SW bands or roughly the frequency range 0.5MHz - 30MHz and require external antennas, not to mention that they cost twice as much as this radio! That is one of the benefits of the Satellit 750 it is an all contained radio that has the AM/SW/FM and AIR band, internal telescopic antenna, battery compartment for power outages as well as options for external antennas, audio out etc.

The only radios that compare with the Satellit 750 were manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s in Japan. An equivalent type radio would be the Panasonic RF-4800/RF-4900 or maybe the Yaesu FRG-7700 (Google to compare). Sure they built them like a tank back then with steel cases as they were full of printed circuit boards, now with integrated circuits and surface mount technology the guts of most radios is very small so the case need not be steel and as large as the radios of yesteryear. If someone knows of other new tabletop radios like the Grundig at this price point please let us know.

You've got to admit The Grundig Satelitt 750 is a great looking radio. I have played with it for a few weeks now and really like it for how I use it which is basically listening to broadcast SW stations as well as local AM (within 60 miles) and FM stations and occasionally eavesdropping on the HAMs.

So here is my list of the pros and cons.

      Pros:

      1: Great looking.
2: Tabletop radio but portable enough (light weight, internal antenna, battery operation) to move from room to room.
3: SSB reception - nice feature if you want to listen into the HAMs.
4: Bandwidth control Wide/Narrow works well in conjunction with the bass and treble controls.
5: RF Gain control and Antenna Attenuation ANT.ATT works well.
6: All contained radio for AM/SW/FM and AIR and internal telescopic antenna as well as external input antenna options.

      Cons:

1: When using the AC power adapter there is a distinct power hum heard when using headphones, including when volume is turned right down. I think the AC adapter could have much better filtering for DC.
2: Signal meter is far too deep set for my liking. Note to Grundig: Move the signal meter forward or just include it in the digital display.
3: Radio has external antenna inputs and internal/external antenna switch on right hand side. Power adapter plug on left hand side and RCA audio out on back of radio. I hate having wires sticking out on all sides of a table top radio...doesn't exactly look nice when on the bookshelf. Note to Grundig: Place all inputs/outputs on rear of the radio and the Antenna internal/external switch on the front panel.
4: Radio does not have the 12k IF output on back of the radio, although the Amazon rear panel pictures of the radio do show the IF output. Bummer I was hoping to use the IF output to feed the PC and decode digital radio mondiale (DRM) transmissions.
5: As others have already mentioned in their reviews the manual sucks really bad... repeat the manual is the worst I have ever seen. Luckily the radio is fairly easy to learn to use.

Finally, the manual doesn't even mention it, that I could find, but to stop the key pad beeping press and hold the "0" button until it says off.

In summary I am happy with the Satellit 750 for what it does and the Amazon price point.

I am on the east coast of Canada, I listened to Cuba, China, India, even Australia on my first night. AM is great, world series from Boston, football from New York, even get hockey from as far away as Ottawa. Of cousre there is some interference on some stations like all radios , but for me , just to sit and hear from across the world, live and in real time over the airwaves is magic. Unfortunately the same issues have cropped up..The antenna does not switch from external to internal. The AC power adaptor is faulty and does not work..Over all , the set is not able to receive even the strongest FM raidio station of the town !!.

This is a fine radio, supplying high quality FM reception for even a number of stations not picked up by other radios. BBC Radio 4 LW is similarly available with high-quality reception. I have yet to explore the SW and Aircraft bands, but I am very happy with what I have experienced so far.
Some of the content in the instruction booklet is testing and I noticed references to DRM in some of the European language translations which which did not appear in their English equivalent.

J'ai reçu hier matin mon Satellite 750. Emballage impeccable, délai de livraison très court.
Le matériel lui-même correspond à mes attentes. Finition impeccable, molettes robustes, look "militaire".
