- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2016I bought 2 sets of these, the green ones for myself and the Blue ones for my girlfriend. Both of them came as advertised, had good bounce, seem to roll randomly, and look gorgeous. The only flaw I found was a very small scratch on the D8, but it is barely noticeable and doesn't seem to affect the roll. The other set had no visible flaws that I could see. Will definitely be getting these sets in the future if I ever need more dice. I got them for Magic The Gathering so I havent done a huge amount of roll testing but they do seem fair as far as i can tell. Highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2020These dice are exactly what is shown on the store page. They are very readable and easily used. I would have liked to find them with slightly less rounded edges and points. That is a minor issue that you don't need to worry or think about since it is my preference. Other than that, they are well made and usable dice that can be used with any role playing game out there including home-brew systems. I actually, in the beginning, was going to get both sets of these dice that were for sale at the time. I would definitely buy them again even if they were a different color.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2009I just received these dice a few hours ago and I've looked them all over carefully. The first thing I noticed is that there are a few tiny scuffs on the edges of some of the dice. I don't think they'll affect the dice any, and they're not big. But, they are noticeable. Also, the paint is done fairly well, but there is a little bit of it outside some of the numbers. Once again, barely noticeable, but it is there. Overall, they seem to roll all over the place, which is what I expected. Although a high rolling d20 would be nice...
Overall, I'm pretty happy with these for the price. They're certainly not as nice as some of the more expensive ones some of my friends have, but they seem to be a good first set of dice.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2013Good quality dice. They look good and feel good. The only issue is if you plan on keeping the clear case they come in, don't. It is extremely brittle and all the sets of Chessex dice I have purchased have had the case break or shatter at least a little bit. This is not an issue at all for me since I use a dice bag, but if you do plan on keeping the case, you will want to be extremely careful when you open them.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2013For the price these dice are very well done. I've purchased 3 separate sets and they all work admirably. There are some slight paint overspill from the numerals, but nothing that will make the cheap price of these unbearable. I've played 2 sessions with each set, rotating them for another set each time, and I've had no issues with lumps causing them to fall on certain numbers more often then not. In fact, the worst part of the dice is that I made the mistake of buying the Teal and Green sets which can be easy to mistake for the other at a glance.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2015Excellent set of dice. The numbers are clear and easy to read, and the green translucent color looks really good.
If you want to keep the small container they come in, be very careful, as 2/3 of the containers I have tried to open have broken. I personally use a Crown Royal bag to keep my dice in, so this does not bother me at all.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2011First off, I'd like to state that the 1 star in fun and educational value is purely because I don't sit around rolling dice for fun, nor do I feel they have any (not much anyway) educational value =P. However, I am generally the DM and people occasionally want to bring other friends or relative to play a session or two so I keep a few extra sets on hand. I only buy Chessex dice sets - not because I think that they're amazing or anything, but paying around five buck for a set of moderately atractive, fully functional dice seems like a pretty good deal to me. I've never had an issue with quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2015Though the color was good, the paint for the actual numbers was bad. About 1/3 of the numbers were horribly painted and scratches all over the d20 as if someone took a knife to it. I assume that this normally doesn't happen but it did happen to me.
