The wax stands up to salt water and spray to protect a boat’s hull from white, chalky oxidation. If it can offer that kind of protection in a harsh, salty environment, rest assured your vehicle will be in good hands with Collimate. Fleet wax #885 is another excellent choice among the Collimate waxes for winter paint protection because the thick paste formula lasts and lasts. Just like it protects boats from salt water, it will protect your vehicle from road salt. Now that’s one tough wax. Collimate Paste Fleet wax # 885 is a pure wax with no cleaning properties. Therefore, clean and polish your vehicle (or boat) before applying Fleet wax to get the best shine possible. Collimate Sapphire Prewar Cleaner #840 works well on single stage automotive finishes and gel coated fiberglass (because gel coats are harder than clear coats). For clear coat paint, use a gentler pre wax cleaner, like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion.

Longest lasting, best shine for fiberglass on the market. Not easy to apply, but worth the effort.

Collinite paste fleetwax is no doubt the best and longest lasting finish for our fiberglass boat. It should be applied over a clean and polished surface as a last step finish. It's not the easiest stuff to apply, but well worth the effort given how long it lasts and the quality of the finish. We use it on our boat in South Florida and get a full summer of use out of it. It sheds dirt and is easier to clean than other products we've tried...and we've tried a bunch! We polish and apply twice a year. I've found the best way to apply it is to use a very slightly damp foam applicator pad. Apply a thin film by hand and remove with a cotton terry cloth or microfiber cloth before it dries, by hand or with a machine. The foam pad works much better than a cotton or wool applicator.

Longest lasting shiniest wax on the market

I have been putting this on my car and motorbike for a couple of years now. It keeps it looking new and clean. The water just rolls off and the dust and bird poo just wipe off. Wash your car without any soap and put this on everywhere -- on the glass, rubber seals, plastics, everywhere. Let it set and wipe it off. You will have the shiniest and newest car always. Remember to put it on with an applicator on a WET clean car. Wipe it off quickly with a microfibre and go back over whatever you missed with a second cloth.

Nothing else comes close. And the shine lasts better than car wax -- it's boat and airplane wax and either gets bombarded with saltwater or air blowing at it at hindreds of miles an hour, so it can definitely handle duty as a car wax.

I worked in a marine store for a while, and took the opportunity (given the staff discount) to buy and try all the waxes. This stuff looks great, and lasts unbelievably well. On vertical surfaces it will still bead water after up to a year; on horizontal surfaces it'll go 4-6 months. The trick to application is to do a small area at a time, and NEVER in direct sunlight.

In business since 1936 with no modern advertising, Collinite products are still the go-to for serious detailers everywhere.

Why? Because they are simply one of the most durable products made to this day.

Collinite products are not for idiots, however. What does that mean? It means that there are VERY distinct instructions on each can telling you EXACTLY how to use it.

Don't be that "I have used a thousand waxes" guy, and just try and use Collinite the same way as all the others. FOLLOW the directions. This is not an option. If you do not, you will be in a world of hurt. It was not designed for idiots who want everything to work they way THEY want it to work.

Collinite products have no "Cherry smell". They smell like petroleum. They are "Big Boy" products for Big Boys. They don't care if you like it, or you don't. They work, period. And they work better than any other wax/hybrid on this planet.

There you have it, folks. That's the rundown on the best wax ever......... ;)

I bought the 925 and this product, the 885. I bought both because of the reviews saying the paste was too hard to take off. I found absolutely no difference in the two but like others suggested, do not let either dry to a haze like the directions say. In a side by side comparison on my boat, I found the paste wax to outshine and out-bead the liquid wax. I cannot attest to the longevity of either but weeks of research and speaking with professional detailers in the business, it was a tossup between this product and the higher end 3M products. Either product, a paste wax will always outshine and out perform a liquid wax, just the nature of the product. I'm happy with my choice. I did use the Collinite cleaner and was very impressed on how it removed oxidation and scuff marks on the smooth gelcoat surfaces. This step is essential in getting the proper wax application. My boat sits on an uncovered boat lift in the hot Carolina sun and, it's on saltwater. I'll give an update this spring on how it's holding up.

This may be the RV wax I’ve been looking for

For the past few years I’ve been looking for a good wax to use on my RV. I’ve been looking for something that doesn’t leave a lot of ugly residue along edges or on textured plastic parts, protects well against UV rays, goes on easy and lasts. I think I found it!

Product went on and came off very easily. I’ve read other reviews that have claimed some difficulty removing the dry wax. I applied during a shady day and didn’t have any difficulties. I prefer the paste wax over the liquid wax because I believe it will adhere longer and because it doesn’t fly off so easily if I use a power buffer.

It’s only been two weeks but still I can see and feel the slipperiness of the wax. So far so good!

I am recommending this product to my friends!

My favorite wax, and I have used many.

Easy to apply and remove, detergent resistant so lasts through car washes better than most waxes, doesn’t discolor black trim, works on glass, smells nice, and last a very long time.

I mostly use it on car paint but have waxed a gel coated boat with it as well.
It doesn’t a great job sealing plastic headlight lenses after being polished and restored.

I put it on everything metal to lubricate, protect, and shine.
