I gave a good review for this can opener when I purchased it but now after using it for three months or so I realize how much I hate it!!!!!! You cannot open a small can ( 8 oz.) can of tomato paste. Also the cord is soooo short it won’t reach the outlet. I have to move it to the outlet to use it.
I’m very unhappy with this can opener!

Nice shape, a solid and classic product, works exactly how you want it to and easy enough to wipe down the blade. Also opens those stupidly designed cans that newer "seam-splitter" can openers cannot open which is why I bought this. I grew up with an automatic can opener and finally got fed up with those crappy hand ones after it couldn't open the dang can. So yeah, 10/10 looks and works great def recommend.

UPDATE!!! WE BROKE UP!!! I broke up with this cute can opener! I have to stop choosing by looks. It turns out this cheeky bugger was quite unsubstantial and very flimsy! The first thicker can I introduced to it bent it out of shape and our relationship was never the same! So....I kicked it to the curb (trash bin)!!! This came at the worst time in my life! I fell and broke my wrist so I could only use 1 hand! Have you ever tried to open a can with a cheap crank manual can opener that your daughter had broken up with with one hand?! Correct! Like mother, like daughter... we can sure pick um! I wish I took a picture of the hot mess it left behind! So my real life partner had to run to Walmart after coming home from work and found me a rather plain looking replacement for my former cutie pie. Here's a good feature for your practical replacement to posess... auto stop. It knows when to stop! A good trait. We're still together. My deepest and most sincere apology for spreaking too quickly about the first loser as I saw that 12 people found my review helpful and probably hooked up with the cutie patootie.

HERE'S OUR ORIGINAL HONEYMOON PHASE: I swore I would never buy another electric can opener because I had purchased a Cutco knife set and it came with one - Cutco makes the best manual can opener but I needed to send it in for servicing (lifetime warranty) so I purchased this very cute Cuisinart electric one. I was pleasantly surprised after the first can opened because I like to rinse the blade with hot water immediately after and I simply slipped it off and voila - task done! Ease of use and great cutting ability plus the attractive appearance - 2 thumbs up! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.....I was a young fool. LOL

I bought this for my 86 year old mother who was having difficulties opening cans. She LOVES it and wonders why she waited so long to get one. It is so easy to operate! Truly an excellent product for people whose hands have difficulty opening cans with a handheld can opener. And the price is fantastic too!

Simply lift the handle, align the can with the blade, push down gently, and it starts to open. It holds the can in place until you remove the lid. Couldn't be easier!
