I love Nalgenes, my last one just broke after 10+ years, split right down the middle when I dropped it (it was a rigid 1L bottle and had seen a lot of sun) so I was ready for a new one. I wanted a 1.5L this time, and this one popped up in my search, it is less rigid than others, but this is their original design and what they got famous for. I love it, plenty of volume, virtually unbreakable, and the best price on Nalgenes.

I love big water bottles. I would rater have a larger water bottle than having to fill up a smaller one so many times in a day. This size is perfect for any of my adventures! It's even better when I use the Guyot Designs SplashGuard-Universal. That allows me to drink without the fear of spilling any water from tilting it too high or when I'm riding in the car and we start moving after a stop sign (iykyk). Love this water bottle!

One thing I wish was different was the size of the connector stipe that connects the lid to the bottle. I usually hold the bottle holding the connector loop, and it can be hard to hold for a long time without it hurting my fingers. That isn't a deal breaker for the bottle, and I'm still looking for ways to work around that. But it would be cool if that connector stipe was a bit wider or had some additional cushion to hold onto it.

All I can say is any negative complaint on here is from someone who doesn’t camp, and thus should but the worse and more expensive bottle of this brand. 1 chemical smell is not there after you wash it well. Plastic smell is still there, which is where I think most are getting confused. The smell is negligent. 2 bottle is made of the material that is slightly insulated in itself. Which is a plus. 3. It is in the right price range.

My Nalgene bottle recently gave up the ghost after splitting on one side. Although disappointing it should be noted that I have owned said water bottle for 7 3/4 years and apart from a new lid it has performed flawlessly. It has lasted through countless hunting trips in South Texas, Minnesota and even the southern alps of New Zealand. It bounced around in the back of my work vehicle and rolled around the floorboards of boats. It has worn stickers and sharpie writing and outlasted them all. I would recommend this bottle to anyone who asks. Tough as nails.

This water bottle is so good for its price. Nalgenes are usually quite expensive, so finding a cheap and lightweight that maintains material quality was so relieving. I brought two of these bottles to the Philmont scouting reservation for a 14 day trek in New Mexico, and these bottles lasted the entire time! I was extremely impressed. I love the additional 0.5L you can carry on top of the typical 1L Nalgene size with every bottle, it doesn't even feel like an extra half a liter.

The cap strap did break, however, but I was also holding 3.3lb by a little plastic piece so that is honestly on me.

The bottle also scratches easily, but those are just battle scars.
