I purchased a used version of the Casio EX-FH20. It arrived in good condition. The product description indicated the camera cables would be included but they were not. It is important to note that the camera uses the SDHC format and that SDXC cards will not work with the camera and that no memory card is included with the product. Overall the value is good for a used camera. I wanted to do some hobby work with the high-speed function and it works very well. One should also note that the image resolution decreases at the higher frame rates. If you want to capture high-resolution, high-speed images this is probably not the camera for you. If you want to capture nature shots or sports action at high-speed the camera works great. After finding the manual online and working through the camera operation modes I am really pleased with the camera and its performance. This is a good value for what I intend to use it for.

This camera is exactly what I hoped it would be. It's not a great still camera, 9mp is not much these days. I bought it for its slow motion video capability. Works great for diagnosing my golf swing. I looked around and could not find anything that shot this video frame rate for even three times the price. This product is shipped from Japan so be prepared to wait. The good news on there is it did arrive just a couple of days earlier than the earliest estimated date. The bad news is , I was lucky the camera did not arrive damaged. The worst packing job I have ever seen. A paper bag with some bubble wrap around the camera (see photo) to be shipped half way around the world. It was not damaged but I think that was just luck.

These other reviews seem to be missing the point. This is the only dsl on the market (that I can find) that will shoot video in 1000 fps mode. This is not a super-high resolution camera, although it takes fine pictures, but it's high-speed capture mode works like a charm. The need for higher levels of light is inherent to hi-speed filming so even videographers working with the most state of the art models will necessarily experience this drawback. If you are looking for an affordable alternative to the multi-thousand dollar hi-speed cameras this is a great choice. If you want a super-high resolution camera, obviously this product isn't what you're looking for.

This may be one of the most disappointing products I have ever purchased. Yes it will take forty frames a second but the picture quality is very low, very grainy-- likewise, the video requires so much light that only daytime, outside or highly artificial lighting is workable.

The ability to switch between 30fps and 210fps is a lot of fun and a very nice feature. However, alongside all the weaknesses of the camera I was very upset that I spent the money. Camera may be worth about $200 but certainly not a $500-$600 price point camera.

Nach zwei Jahren Probleme mit Akkuanzeige

An für sich ist die Kamera toll! Hab schon viel Freude daran gehabt, vor allem mit der Zeitlupenaufnahme, was neben dem gigantischen Zoom und dem genialen Supermakro-Modus ein Hauptgrund für den Kauf war. Doch jetzt ist die Kamera etwas mehr als zwei Jahre alt und seit einiger Zeit schon kann ich das Gerät kaum länger als zehn Minuten laufen lassen, bevor angezeigt wird, dass die Akkus leer seien, worauf die Kamera sich selbstständig abschaltet. Dachte zunächst, es sei ein Problem der alten Akkus. Also niegelnagelneue Akkus gekauft, es auch mit normalen Batterien versucht, aber das Kernproblem blieb bestehen. Zwar war die Anzeige erst mal im grünen Bereich, doch schon nach einigen Minuten schaltete sich die Kamera wieder wegen angeblich leerer Akkus ab. Sehr sehr ärgerlich! Mit einem Reset aller Einstellungen ist es auch nicht getan und ignorieren lässt sich die Batteriewarnung schon gar nicht. Also bleibt mir nur, die Akkus immer voll auzuladen, um vielleicht 10 Minuten Fotografieren zu können. Aus den fünf Sternen, die ich anfangs also gegeben hätte wegen all der tollen Funktionen (oder vielleicht vier, weil der Zoomknopf so ungünstig angebracht ist, dass man dauernd versehentlich dagegen kommt, werden nun, nach etwa zwei Jahren, nur noch zwei. Denn wenn man technisch bedingt nur ein Zeitfenster von wenigen Minuten zum Fotografieren hat, nützt die tollste Kamera nichts. (Übrigens kein Profigerät, aber für einen Amateur wie mich, der hin und wieder Makro- oder Zeitlupenaufnahmen machen will, ein hübsches Spielzeug.) Schade! Werde dem ganzen nun noch eine Chance geben und mir eneloop-Akkus kaufen müssen oder es mit einem Netzteil probieren, wie auf der FAQ-Seite von Casio angegeben...

Ich bin vollauf zufriedne mit der Kamera, die ich nun schon ein jahr besitze und sehr viel damit fotografiere.

Die Cam kann so viel udn ich nutze die Hälfte davon gar nicht , daher beschreibe ich nur das was ich nutze.

* Fotos: Für eine Nicht-Spiegelreflexkamera ausgezeichnet. ich kann damit problemlos Riesenposter ausdrucken lassen. Man kann alles manuell oder via Best-Shot Programmen einstellen. Das funktioniert sehr gut. Die Kamera löst schnell aus udn ist auch sehr schnell hochgefahren (also schussbereit)

* Filmen: Da war ich wirklich überrascht, da ich sehr viel filme. Hervorragende Bild und vor allem Tonqualität. Sehr schöne Bässe (hab schon live Konzerte mitgefilmt). Keine Autofokusgeräusche wie bei meiner letzten Cam.
Man sollte vor dem Filmen den Auslöser halb durchdrücken (wie beim Foto fokussieren), damit alles scharf ist.

Was mich allerdings enttäuscht hat ist, dass man nur 10 Minuten am Stück filmen kann.
Übrigens sehr verwirrend daran ist, dass das Display bei Standard video ca 54 Minuten als Restfilmzeit anzeigt. Erstens kann man wie gesagt eh nur 10 Min am Stück filmen. Und zweitens sind die 54 min bei einer 32 GB Speicherkarte sowieso auch zuwenig. Ich bin dann durch den Support draufgekommen, dass diese 54 minuten wieder und wieder angezeigt werden, bis die Karte voll ist, da man auch nicht mehr als 2GB am Stück aufnehmen kann und das entspricht genau den 54 Minuten.

* Das Display ist gut, man kann es auch im Freien gut erkennen und bei Sonneneinstrahlung. ich habe mir allerdings eine Anti-reflex Folie draufgegeben. dadurch spiegelt das Display nicht mehr so und es ist geschützt.

* Meine 2800 Hähnel Akkus halten sehr lange drin (ca 5 Stunden Videofilmen!!!). Normale Alkaline Batterien halten kaum eine halbe Stunde, würde also nur Akkus nehmen.

Die Kamera ist im Großen und Ganzen sehr gut. Das einzige, was mich bisher störte ist, daß bei Motiven mit hohem Kontrastumfang helle Partien auf den Fotos zumeist unscharf sind. Das wird aber durch ansonsten gute Bilder und einzigartige Aufnahmemöglichkeiten wieder wettgemacht. Das Menü ist sehr gut gegliedert und funktionell. Die Helligkeit des Monitors sowie des Suchers sind individuell regelbar. Im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Fabrikaten ist der elektronische Sucher auch genügend scharf. Ich verwende in dieser, wie auch in div. anderen Kameras, nur Sanyos eneloop-Akkus und kann diese guten Gewissens empfehlen. Ganz klar ist, daß man die Qualität der Bilder dieser Kamera nicht mit denen einer digitalen Spiegelreflex vergleichen darf. Aber wer etwas ganz Besonders will, ist mit dieser Casio bestens bedient. So etwas hat eben nicht Jede(r).

Die EX-FH20 arbeitet bei ausreichender Beleuchtung auch im Hi-Speed ordentlich. Beim Fokussieren durch einen Maschendraht (Rennstrecke) versagt sie Ihren Dienst. Einige Funktionen wie Digital-Schwenk od. Multi-Motion-Bild sind nicht möglich. Bei schwacher Ausleuchtung ist eine Fokussion kaum möglich. Nach zwei Jahren wird ständig ein zu schwacher Akku angezeigt obwohl neuer Akku und vollständig aufgeladen. Noch schlimmer ist jedoch, dass teilweise die Aufnahmen nicht abgespeichert werden. Die Kamera ist das Geld nicht wert.
