Great Starter Guitar, Except...
This guitar "pack" came shipped in two parcels. The guitar and accessories were in one package and the amplifier in the other. It's not much of an amplifier, but I wasn't expecting a Marshall half-stack for $30. It has bass and treble control, volume, on/off, and a clean/overdrive switch. Both modes of the amplifier seem to function as expected. There is a 1/4" input jack and a 1/4" headphone jack on the front panel and a st'd grounded/earthed plug for an outlet. The amplifier is NOT battery powered. The accessories and gig bag appear to be pretty standard fare and are decent for a beginner's instrument. The guitar was detuned and NOT set up out of the box. This is not a complaint, rather an advisory. If you buy a $100 guitar and expect it to be plug-and-play then you haven't spent much time around musical instruments. Arguably the opportunity to learn how to do a basic setup and set the intonation might be a good place for a burgeoning musician to start their journey. At any rate, the guitar appears to hold standard tuning fairly well once the intonation is set. Granted I have probably set up literally dozens of guitars over the years, but this one took about 20 minutes. The only complaint I might offer is that for a "beginner" guitar this instrument is actually quite heavy. It is every bit as heavy (if not heavier) than many full-size Stratocasters I have played. It is the only reason I cannot give this review five (5) stars. The finish is very nice and the pots and toggle switch seem to be clean. I am not sure if the tremolo will be of much use since there are no lockers at the nut, but I am not sure what I should be expecting for around $100. Overall this seems to be a very playable instrument and I am looking forward to my 7 y.o. son getting a few good years out of it before he outgrows it.**UPDATE**Nearly one year in and the amplifier is stone dead. Speaker crackles, but no sound from instrument. Tried multiple cables and instruments. Slight magnesium smell from chassis. Amp is blown.

I ordered this guitar thru Amazon for my 9 year old great nephew. The size was perfect and the guitar is beautiful. Very well made and sounds great. The price was right and you can't beat the accessories that are included. I don't care for gig bags, but there is a case made for this guitar that you can order too. The guitar was shipped from Rondo Music and they also sell the case on their site. The guitar and hard shell case are a great combination to get your young one started out right playing guitar, and Rondo Music will get them to you fast. Their customer service is quick and knowledgeable, and very courteous.

I bought this guitar for my daughter. She is 10 and it fits her well. I'm not a guitar player, so I can't speak to where it ranks among quality guitars, but so far she is able to use it reliably as she is learning. It also looks great and makes her feel like good about playing it. The amp is not amazing quality, and not crazy loud (which for us is a plus), but it plays well enough to get the right sound for someone starting out. This guitar does work for the XBOX 360 game RockSmith, which allows you to plug the guitar right into the game console and walks the user through tuning the guitar and a ton of different ways to learn to play.

This is a great set for a young beginner. My 7 y/o was thrilled to get it for her bday! The cords are kinda cheap, so I'll replace them with higher quality. When I recieved it the amp didnt work. I messaged the seller and they asked how I knew it was the amp and not the guitar so I took it to a local music store to try it on another amp and try another guitar on this amp. Sure enough it was the amp. My local guy was awesome and opened it up and found the ground wasnt connected inside the amp which is a manufacturing error but he fixed it for me and now it works. The company should have better quality control for their items, plus everything arrived in just cardboard boxes no padding to secure them during shipping so honestly I'm surprised they were damaged in transit

It is small enough that a 7 year old can play it but large enough that a 6' tall man (that would be me) can play it as well. I would not recommend it for a man, but it is doable.

Everything that you need comes with it, although I did not like the tuner that much so I bought a different extra one for $13.

It looks good, appears to be solidly built, and was MUCH better than anything else I saw in this price range. It is a great 1st guitar for any kid.

I got this for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. I was looking at a few different 3/4 guitars on Amazon and chose this one. I'm not a guitar player, but I have had a few in the past. This is a great package for the money. I got the guitar, amp, gig bag, tuner, chord, strap and picks for $126 shipped! The guitar seems very well made and is good quality. The amp is ok, but it is fine for a beginner. I am even going to learn to play myself. If my son wants to start playing, I will buy another one. I would definitely recommend this package!

This guitar served my son well from 10 until 13, but is not suitable beyond that. The amp was a complete waste of space from the get-go so had to upgrade that right away. So basically, you’re looking at a $169 guitar which is still not a bad deal, especially if you don’t know whether your kid is going to enjoy playing guitar. In hindsight, I’d have bought an entry level Ibanez and a $100 fender amp, but that would have cost over $300. A big investment for a ten year old.

The guitar itself is great for beginners but doesn’t sound great with overdrive. Build quality is fine but don’t expect too much once your child progresses.
