Perfect for recording podcasts, audio for video or laying down some vocal tracks, the Go Mic's range of functionality extends beyond typical USB microphones. The integrated clip design allows you to mount the microphone directly onto your laptop or it can be used as a desk stand. You can even mount the Go Mic on a standard microphone stand with a 3/8”-19 mic stand adapter. |
Go Mic includes two microphone pickup patterns: cardioid and omnidirectional. Cardioid captures sound in front of the microphone and rejects sound from the sides and back. This is great for single person podcasts or streaming. When the Go Mic is set to Omni pattern, it will pick up sound in a 360° pattern. This can be used to capture a group of people around a table for a multi-subject interview. A -10 dB pad provides additional headroom and protects the audio from overloading. |
Go Mic features plug and play operation, which means it's completely compatible with a Mac or Windows, with no drivers required. Simply connect the included USB cable and start creating. It also includes an 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone output for zero-latency direct monitoring. This means there will be no delay between the audio you're recording and the audio you're hearing. |
The Go Mic has a unique fold-up design, that can fit in your pocket or throw it in your laptop bag, making it ideal for professional recordings anywhere you Go! |
Go Mic surpasses expectations for both needs with studio quality audio and the ability to record directly into your favorite audio software. *update: I ordered Samson's software directly from their site in order to improve the experience with their mic. Paid and downloaded, and it installed and opened fine on my Mac. Problem is it doesn't recognize the mic. I wrote back and forth with them. They sent a new mic (same kind), but it still didn't work. They sent a file to "fix" it, but clearly know nothing about Macs and so that didn't work, either. At that point I asked for a refund for their useless software, and then they suddenly disappeared. I would not suggest ever doing business with a company like that.
I was shocked to see how tiny the mic was when it arrived and thought, “surely, this is not going to sound good.” So I tested it in my house before I took it out on the road 2 days later. It seemed to sound good. So I went with it. The sound was beautiful — pure vocals from people sitting around a table having a discussion. Then, I tested it out at the studio in the office — it kicked the Yeti’s butt. With the Yeti, I needed to do a lot of post-production work to remove background noise and clean up the vocals. With this little guy, the only thing I do in post-production is remove breaths and bad takes.
Now that I’m quarantined at home, I have gone on to buy a small tripod with adapter so that the mic can attach as well as a pop-filter. This has made my home office into a semi-professional studio. I can’t rave enough about this mic’s sound.
My only con to this? The casing — the ball hinge that is on the mic is a bit loose feeling — it get’s wobbly. If they can tighten that up a bit, this would be perfect.
If you need a good mic for video/audio conferencing or podcasting, or for recording quick song ideas or music, look no further. This thing fits the bill at less than half the price of the nearest competitor, and does it better, IMO, in a better package. (and I've owned the Blue snowball and the Yeti).
There's a bit of feedback when a cell phone is near. Not sure if this is an issue with all mics, or just this one. Maybe since it's so small it isn't shielded as well as it could be if it were larger.
Overall this thing as been great. Would buy again and would recommend.
I use this with a free program Audacity and OBS. You can make presets for room noise and how much the mic will pic up. The mic has different setting allowing you to pick up ambient noise or just one side of the mic, for when you are recording by yourself. The -10 db is great for when you might have noise in the background, because it picks up sound in closer proximity to the mic.
One of the best price purchases for someone who wants a good quality recording device, that can plug it in and immediately get to work.

I recorded a phone-played audio and recorded on Laptop mic and on Samson Go mic.
Check the quality and decide for yourself.
In conclusion, the retro styling may not be to everyone's taste but I like it. If you want a portable, reliable, good quality, versatile USB mic. This is the one....

First the bad:
* Nitpick - It doesn't have external controls (apart from a simple -10dB pad switch, with is very handy) and the build quality of the plastic housing isn't stellar.
* Real niggle: The placement of the USB connector is also in such a place where it makes the microphone sag to one side.
* Real niggle: The internal USB interface only supports 16bit 44.1kHz, where it would have been great if it could have supported at least 16bit 48Hz. 44.1kHz is CD quality, but 48kHz is a massive improvement for studio-based work. If this was a crappy microphone, this would not have been an issue. The reality is that this is a great sounding little microphone, so the 44.1kHz-only interface does limit the utility of this microphone (at 48kHz I would have had no issue using this microphone for professional voice-overs
Do I dislike this microphone? Not at all, it's just that with a little bit "extra" it would have been able to punch well above it's weight. As a result, this is a good "rehearsal" or "jam session" microphone, and it's small size makes it great for travelling. I can heartily recommend this mic to singer-songwriters to use as a brainstorming microphone, and for a YouTuber/Gamer as a great streaming microphone. Unfortunately this won't be your "one-mic-for-everything" device.
It's a bit pricey, so if you can justify paying for it, go ahead and get it. It's a great little device, in spite of all the shortcomings.
So to start with the sound quality it offers 3 modes and all of them work perfectly. -10db option a great to do voice over and the sound comes out awesome. Yes, it captures little bit of noise but that's not a concern as it can be removed in post processing. So for the price it offers great recording options and good sound quality. Other two options are also great to record unidirectional or all directional sound. So if you are on a tight budget then this mic will fit your need perfectly.
On handling front it is very small and can be connected to your laptop via mini USB cable. So all in all i am very satisfied with the device with only one complain "Build quality"
