Coleman 2000024041 lantern LED quad. Camping lights lanterns. Made of the highest quality materials. Camping lights lanterns
Amazon.com
Combining an area light with four portable lanterns in a single clever unit, the Coleman LED Quad lantern is a versatile choice for indoor or outdoor use. The Quad is equipped with four removable LED panels that hold 24 LED lights total. Users can remove any of the four panels and use them independently, such as when needing a portable light for the bathroom or tent, or they can keep all four attached to the lantern and produce 190 total lumens of light. As a result, the Quad is the perfect light for group camping trips and any other occasion where folks might splinter off into smaller groups during the night. Each of the panels is a fully functioning light, with six 5mm white LEDs, a rechargeable NiMH battery, an independent on/off switch, and a top handle for carrying or hanging. The NiMH battery--which recharges when stored in the lantern base--provides up to 1.5 hours of light on its own. The lantern base, meanwhile, requires eight D-cell batteries (not included), which provide an approximate run time of 75 hours for the entire lantern. Other features include a main on/off switch located on top of the lantern, a light range of 26 feet, and a limited five-year warranty.
About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Great Camping LED Lantern

- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2009I have been a long time believer in only using propane lanterns when car camping. Previous battery operated lanterns with florescent bulbs that I have tried have always lacked for sufficient light to eat by let alone cook or setup a tent with.
But, then I discovered the Coleman LED Quad Lantern and everything has changed. This is, by far, the best camping lantern I have ever used! Not only is it super bright, it is smaller and more convenient than a propane lantern - especially since I no longer need to tote around gas canisters.
But, this lantern is more than just a lantern; it provides for personal lighting needs as well. Each of the lantern's four light panels detach and work as rechargeable hand lamps for that rummage in the back of the truck for gear or the scramble to the bathroom site in the middle of the night. And, with a 1-1/2 hour charge time, that makes these light panels useful for reading in the tent, etc.
It is not only this lantern's overall design that make it great, but the attention to little things as well. For example, the rechargeable light panels are powered by AAA rechargeable batteries. Unlike other rechargeable light systems where the battery is sealed and inaccessible, if a battery eventually fails, it can be easily replaced with a matching, off-the-shelf rechargeable battery. The lantern as a whole is powered by D cell batteries.
No more propane, no more broken mantles, no more trying to light a propane lantern in the dark. The Coleman LED Quad Lantern is the lantern of the future that I bet all competitors will try to copy.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2010I had purchased this lantern for my husband for Father's Day. The other night, a DOT truck hit a pole in our neighborhood, and our lights were out for almost six hours. We had already placed the batteries in the lantern and decided to try it out. All I can say is WOW! What a light! Seriously, this is the absolute best lantern that I have ever seen. It puts out a REALLY bright light, and the four detachable flashlights are so bright, that you could set each in a different room and light up your house. We were so impressed with this lantern, that we have already bought another one, and then purchased two of the new rechargeable Coleman Lanterns with two detachable flashlights. I will give one to my mother in case of a power outage. If you purchase the new rechargeable Lantern with two detachable flashlights, you have to purchase the charger separately. We paid $19.95 on Amazon for our charger.
I would highly recommend these as a gift for your family or friends. These are excellent birthday, Father's Day or even Christmas gifts. It's a little heavy, but not too heavy. This would be great for camping or taking on a trip. One night, we were staying in a hotel and there was a heavy thunderstorm, and the hotel had a power outage for several hours. This would have been great because we were traveling by car. This would also be very nice for senior citizens because it really lights up a house. A family of four could each take the detachable flashlight and be able to see in a dark house. Also, if you're on the road a lot and your car breaks down at night, this would be really handy.
I lived in Florida for six years, and was there during the terrible 2004 - 2005 hurricane season and can tell you firsthand, don't be without at least one good lantern, some batteries, candles and canned goods. Storms in Florida can be really bad and you can sit in the dark for quite a while. Coleman has a winner with this lantern! I have checked other places, but Amazon continues to have the absolute best price on these lanterns.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2016I absolutely love this lantern! This is my second one only because of a break up. I didn't end up with the first one. I knew I had to get the exact same one because it's so excellent. I had the first one for at least 5 years and used it frequently on camping trips and at home when the electric went out during storms. I love this design. The base takes several d batteries, while the other hand held lights use rechargeable batteries (which were included!). This is so that the hand held individual lights recharge while they're on the base. This has been invaluable while camping. The base can be setup at camp and stay on while you take one or multiple lights off to carry with you to light the way to your tent, bathroom, etc. The lights are nice and bright. I also love the option of taking one side of the lights off the base while having the base turned on so that the space is lit up while not shining in your face.
I don't have the first, earlier model lantern to physically compaired the two. From memory though, I think the base off the newer model is slightly different. This base you simply twist open to reveal the d battery compartment. This is an improvement from the older model, from what I remember. In the whole 5 years of using the first one, I think we replaced the d batteries only once.
This lantern has been and will be invaluable for years to come.
I will say that this is not a backpacking lantern. I think that is fairly obvious. The lantern is somewhat heavy with all the d batteries in it. The individual lights are nice and light though. This is great for car camping and at home.

M BlackwellReviewed in the United Kingdom on October 12, 20135.0 out of 5 stars Not a CPX Lantern
When i go camping I take a solar panel and a leisure battery because i like all my 'gadgets' to be 12v rechargeable. Not to save the planet from endless battery landfill (lets face it we are all gonna get eaten by Zombies long before the ozone layer depletes) but because i am extreamly tight and batteries are exspensive.
I looked in great detail at the CPX Dual lantern and was quite impressed by most of the reviews apart from the odd tyre kicker ( Lets face it it's a lantern it's not gonna change your life). When i saw there was a quad version i assumed that 'bigger was better' and ordered it not reading all the reviews (my fault i know) and assuming it would also be a CPX lantern.
I was wrong!
However as i was bemoning my stupidity i decided to buy 8 unbranded D type batteries from Home Bargains at a reasonable price of £2.60 and see if the lantern could live up to its boasted 75hr runtime.
14 Hrs later it is still going strong (i'll let you know when it dies).
30hrs itck tock tick tock. About half as bright when used as an area lantern. Panels are still fully bright when detatched.
48hrs and the area lantern still emits a reduced glow but the panels are fully charged if detatached.
I'm impressed!
I may even keep it lol
DmitriReviewed in Canada on January 2, 20145.0 out of 5 stars Bright and lasts for long
I bought this light as an emergency light source for my cottage... And it works really well. This Christmas we had three outages more then 20 hours each - use it all dark time on one batteries load. Detachable panels are very convenient - it is always possible to take piece of light from central source with you as well as detach one or more and shut off if bright light is not required. Each panel produces bright wide spread light - not like a narrow spot flash light. This lantern works really good for my purpose - to have stationary long lasting source of light.
Be noticed this lantern uses 8 D type batteries so it is quite heavy
The battery insertion process to the base is not simple because of thin plastic of large diameter bottom cover
Four handles of detachable pads looks very convenient to use them to move entire lantern - don't do this! Panel may accidentally be detached. The only small round handle at the middle of the light's top supposes to be used for lifting of lantern

榊のカリスマReviewed in Japan on August 21, 20165.0 out of 5 stars
