- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2013Was looking for a very light optic/red dot for my early 90's Buckmark. Bought a new Picatinny top rail to replace the factory original (open sights only). The new rail also has adjustable open sights - bonus.
Mounted this very diminutive unit on top, looks great. Plenty large enough field of view. Point of impact was, of course, way off. Easy enough to adjust - they even supply the appropriate screwdriver, and it isn't a piece of junk, either.
Just a red dot, at two levels of intensity - no green, no alternate reticles. Perfect, IMO. There's no room for fancy dials on this Lilliputian sight. Instruction sheet is pretty thin, and written in engrish, but unless this is your first optic you'll catch on pretty quick.
Pay attention to the part where you have the locking screws for the sight adjustments. You have to turn the back screws open a touch, then you can turn the windage and elevation screws. Get them where you want them, the go back and tighten the lockdown screws to make sure everything holds. Good system, actually. Adjustments don't have any click to them, Waddya want for $30 and this small ? Toast ?
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2013I mounted it on top of my scope on my 22 and it seemed to be fairly consistent. The only thing that I can see being a problem at this point in the game is the adjustment screws and brightness.
Adjustment screws: I had to almost remove the adjustment screws to get it zeroed with windage. Elevation was pretty easy to get.
Brightness: Someone commented about it being really bright, that is true when you are pointing it around in the house, but in the middle of the day outside when there is snow all over the ground, it looked like the battery was almost dead. However, when I got back inside it was as bright as could be. With that, I would probably buy it again if I had to do it all over again knowing what I know. I did manage to hit a rabbit on the run from about 20 yards so it is pretty effective for a sight.
Update a few years later.
It's still working, which is always a plus. I had it mounted, as said before, to the top of my scope for a while, I tried making it the main sight on my 22 and it worked like a charm. Held a 1 inch group at about 30 yards using a table for a rest. Just last night I tried attaching it to my SPR for S&G and it actually did pretty good, I mounted it on a UTG QD riser so I could take it off and put it back on hopefully maintaining zero. I didn't get a chance to take it off and put it back on for the zero hold because it started raining, but it held up to the recoil of the AR for at least 100 Rounds.
Summary: For 30 bucks, its probably a 5 star rating, but I am going to keep it at 3 so I don't mislead anyone, it is not an Aimpoint or EOTech obviously, so don't expect fine adjustments and quality like you would get with those. If you want to gamble and don't really care if you waste 30 bucks, give it a shot, but if you want something that will impress your friends and never break, don't buy this.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2013Am using it on a Ruger .22 cal. Target Model bu haven't had a chance to try it out at the range. A little difficult to bring up the red dot. Easy adjustmet locations and a great price however.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2014I had high hopes for this red dot sight.
It looked good, mounted up just fine sighted in easily.
After about 50 rounds on my 22lr pistol it shut off by itself.
I shut the switch off and back on. It turned back on. So I thought it was a fluke until it happened again and again 3 more times.
Sometimes it would come right back on sometimes after about 1/2 hour.
The last time it happened I took it off because it would not turn back on at all.
The next day I turned it on and it worked again.
I am sending it back for a refund. What a waste of time.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2012After I zero it in it will slowly move back. You can even watch the adjustment screw slowly move as you shoot. And I only have it on a .22. It only moves a little but if you are shooting from a bench rest you can definitely tell.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2012I haven't taken this to the range yet so all I can say is so far I'm happy with it. It comes in a nice box complete with its own tools. Its seems as well made as the ones made by fn herstal. Ive been burned by comparing cheaper brands to better brands though so I'll only say so far so good. I will revise my review after some range time.
Update: I've taken this to the range several times and can say it seems like good quality. I have it mounted offset on my AK47 and it handles the kick well. There was one time when I was unloading a mag as fast as I could and it did go out on me towards the end of 30 rounds. I switched it to the off position and then back to the on position. It came right back on and hasn't failed me again since. Maybe these weren't made to handle long bursts of fire, maybe it was a fluke. Dont know. Either way its held up fine ever since.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2016This seems like a nice little sight, however mine came with a defective power switch so I cannot give it a good review. Overall it is built pretty well. The whole thing is made of aluminum. Its very small, the length of about 3 notches on my rail. When I held down on the broken switch to keep the sight on, it was a very visible dot. I liked it enough to go ahead and order a similar one after I returned this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2014For the price, this is a decent reflex sight. Was not to concerned about spending a lot of money since it was going to be a backup sight. Noticed double vision when wearing polarized sunglasses when using sight.
