- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2012Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSumma Theologica is the central work on Catholic moral theology (as well as on other theological principles) from the brilliant St. Thomas of Aquinas (1225-1274). It is a massive text and the Kindle version makes it easy to move about it effectively. The Summa is neatly divided into major sections (the Parts) and subsections (the Questions) and then the individual issues (the Articles). One simply goes to the table of contents page to navigate to the part you wish to read and you are guided to a page of links with question titles so you can access the one you want. St. Thomas makes frequent reference to other statements within his work as part of his arguments and these are set as links that allow immediate jumping to the reference. The Kindle also permits highlighting and bookmarking so that it is easy to go back to pages that had important information. I found that this enhanced version used on Kindle is superior to the New Advent online Summa Theologica and to the book in print, and the price can't be beat. If I could make one improvement, I'd have the part, question, and article number appear at the top or bottom of each page, since these are used for reference when doing research or study, but this is a minor concern.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe read here is a bit tough, but it is great for someone that would like to know where the early Christian Church came from and how people like Thomas Aquinas helped form what we have going on today!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA very difficult read for this non scholar. But worth the time.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2009on my kindle dx the words do not break whole at the end of each line. Rather they simply create a new line by breaking words into pieces. Very distracting!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2013Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI'm not a big fan of ebooks. I used to have the 5 volume set of the Summa and gave it away. I really miss it. The navigation here leaves a lot to be desired, I think that is the case for all ebooks especially reference and text books.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2012Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI am very happy with the extra bookmark formatting and with the general layout of this ebook. Definitely worth the extra $1.
