So here's what this game does differently than most other racers, this game isn't a linear racing style. Meaning, you don't just progress through the game in a straight line winning races after another. This game is open world racing, meaning you choose what you want to do and how you'll do it.

This game isn't purely focused on racing rather, it focuses on the lifestyle of the rich and famous and thus in the game you can buy and customize your house, cars, and avatar. There's literally an infinite amount of combinations. Who wouldn't want to live like Paris Hilton for a day or two?

Features of this game is basically it's non-linear play style. That was the hallmark of the first Test Drive Unlimited and it still exists here in TDU2. You choose when and where you want to race.

Eden Games did a great job of integrating many aspects of modern lifestyle living. Houses are designed very well and look really good, cars look beautiful and accurately rendered inside and out, fashion and clothing is up-to-date, scenery is astoundingly nice around both Ibiza and Oahu.

Aside from the lifestyle the game focuses on, TDU2 is a racing game after all and thus has many of the world's most exotic cars starting with Ferrari, Bugatti, etc.. Cars are split into 3 main categories (Asphalt, Offroad, Classic) and further split into classes (A, B, etc..) so that your Nissan 370Z won't be racing against a Ferrari. You can also level up with the different aspects of the game. The 4 categories that make up your global rank are: Competition, Social, Discovery, and Collection. Your global max level is 60, and each category has 15 levels you can attain.

There's a lot to say about this game because there is so much to do even if you focus on a general category and plus I don't want to spoil the fun for those who haven't played the Test Drive Unlimited games before.

Overall, buy this game but don't expect a Need for Speed style experience. This game is different in its own right. This game doesn't focus on street racing, it focuses on the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

I bought this game when I had an early core i5 computer (first gen with clock speed of 2.4). Even though that computer had a radeon 3870 the game was barely playable and the physics of the car were slow and made it no fun. I have now installed it on my new core i7 laptop which has just a intel 4000 graphics card and it runs much better. This makes me think this game is more processor than graphics card dependent. It is leaps and bounds a different game and much more fun. Getting the physics to run right on a fast processor and I also think Atari made some updates to it that smoothed out car response because it was too overly sensitive with the steering. Now its a great game. Absolutely incredible. Almost no need to get that new playstation 4 I keep dreaming about.

This game has pretty low minimum requirements to run on the computer, but it runs so slow and choppy and getting the game into full screen is a chore, get this game on a game system it doesn't run as well as Test Drive Unlimited 1 for PC!

After all the hype, I pre-ordered this game and waited anxiously for it's arrival. TDU was a great game and I loved it, TDU2 is a lousy game and I'll explain why I feel this way about it: First, I have a 7750 KUMA dual-core with 4GB DDR2800 on the board and 1GB HD5750 GDDR5 Radeon and it's not enough! Regardless of what the stats seem to say, you need a gaming rig to play this game and I mean a good gaming rig...I would suggest a quad-core and 64-bit OS with 8GB on the board minimum as well as no less than 2GB on video. Second, this game is made to be played online, which is fine, though I also like to play offline in more quiet times. This game really wasn't designed for that. The challanges are quite difficult. I made it to the first championship cup on Ibiza but never managed to get past the fourth race. Even with the system I have, it's not enough to give me the control I need to win those races. The racing school part of the game is ridiculous. In TDU, you bought a car and raced...in TDU2, you have to go to school, pass the "classes", get your license, and THEN you can race. STUPID! If I wanted a racing career, I'd become a race car driver! The point of the game is to have fun and TDU2 took the fun out of the game.

Overall, it's a good racing game once you get into it. Unfortunately it takes a little doing to actually get into the *racing* part of the game. The graphics are nice, the variety of cars is good, the variety of racing styles & missions is good, and it's great having a big open world to drive around and explore. What's annoying is how much focus is placed on doing other, non-racing stuff. You end up having to waste WAY too much time advancing your character by doing idiotic things like buying new clothes, changing your haircut, redecorating your home, etc. I mean, come on, this is a RACING game, not a SIMS game! I also don't like the new driving school requirements....you have to go to driving school and complete various lessons/tests before you will be allowed to actually enter races. Annoying! But once you get past those things, the actual driving & racing part of the game is quite good....just be prepared to spend a couple hours doing useless stuff before you can really get into the racing. If you liked the first TDU, you'll like this as well.....but in some ways it's a step backward rather than forward for the series.

The game did not work on our computer. Action was very slow and paused frame by frame. It was installed with Windows 7 and we feel it should have worked. I bought it for my grandson who is computer competent and he is very disappointed.
