Product Description
The Pelican 7060 LED light employs new dual switch technology that allows the light to be activated by either a body-mounted patrol switch or a tail-mounted tactical switch. The dual switches, which include a momentary mode, allows the user to grip the light in several positions and still control activation. The light incorporates rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum brightness and are also light weight compared to standard batteries.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2010Impressed by all the favorable reviews, I ordered the light. In general, it works very well.
HOWEVER, what they don't tell you, is the battery cannot be easily replaced in the field, so if you get into a situation where the rechargeable battery runs down, you don't just pop in a replacement cell. Although the manual basically says unscrew the tailcap, remove the old battery, and reinstall the new one, it's a real ordeal to remove the cell. It will not happen in the dark, in a hurry, and without making a lot of noise.
When I called Pelican to ask about the apparent disconnect between the instructions in the manual and how the light is actually built, I received a "Why would you need to change the battery in the field?" response. Well, the run time is about an hour, the recharge time is about four hours, and some people might have an urgent need to quickly change out a dead rechargeable cell.
I thinks the light is a quality product, but the engineering is marginal, and customer service is far less than I would have expected.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2011My dad bought me this cause he liked his so much, but he has had some problems. He uses his alot everyday and after about 10 months the switches slowly stopped to work till it stopped working completely, he went in to the pelican headquarters in Torrance,CA and they replaced it no questions asked, but again about 10 months later the same thing happened. Pelican again replaced it but it has not been ten months yet with his third one so we will see what happens. On the brighter note, ive had my first one since about the same time he got his first one and mine still works great, though I only use mine about once a week or so.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2009I'm a criminal justice student which has allowed me to do ride-alongs with officers from the local PD. Day shift is cool, but there's no doubt that midnights is where it's at. When I first started riding a year ago only one officer had recently purchased the 7060. After about two weeks, every officer on the midnight shift had one. It is either one of the best lights out there or it is infectious. I think both. Now that I am closer to becoming an officer myself I decided to get one as well. If being on the streets with it didn't sell it, than being in complete darkness out in the woods did. The 7060 is not only extremely lightweight, easy to hold, easy to operate, rechargeable but it throws some light. You can clearly see 100 yards away with it's incredible blinding white light. At 130 lumens it is not as bright as the MAG Charger with the terraLUX upgrade but it sure does perform better. Granted the 7060 is a tad small than your ordinary primary duty light, but it works great either way. If your looking for something longer, and heftier than go for the Pelican 8060. I wouldn't steer you wrong!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2010I use it every night, on the street working patrol in an urban setting. If you're on the job and you're still using a stinger, order this flashlight NOW. Light is brighter, and appears to shoot for a longer distance. If you wear leather gear, you'll have to purchase a holder (it comes with a nylon one).
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2011I work in Law enforcement and quickly became annoyed and the new issue flashlight they gave out to us... It was bulky, heavy and the light output was quite poor for it size... so I invested in the Peli 7060 for myself. All i can say is it is a fantastic nit of kit. Extremely bright, light and the duel switch is much more useful than i thought it would be. The really bright inner focus circle of light is perfect for making whatever you want appear like day light and the lesser focused outer cone of light around that is perfect for inspecting documents on cars without blinding its occupants... It's run time is not incredible but this would be expected from such a powerful torch in a small form. I'll get about an hour of continuous use from a full charge but i rarely need to have it on continuously for that length of time and I generally use it only for a minute or 2 at a time when I need it. It takes about 2.5 hours from dead to a full charge... It is also extremely durable and has taken some hard knocks and drops in puddles in its stride.
Another point I would like to mention is that this product has a lifetime guarantee and after about a year of use, my torch developed a fault with its charging contacts. I contacted Peli and they put me in touch with a local dealer. Product replaced with no hassle at all and has been working perfectly since.. I cannot recommend this product and company enough!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2009I am a pest inspector, and spend on average four hours a day under houses, plus another two hours, inspecting homes. I have been doing this for twenty-five years, and have done over 17,000 inspections--I have used everything ,from the old pro 20 to the sl 20, and on to the plastic XP --this flashlight is by far the best I have used yet, and have gone two days without a re-charge--and that only takes 45 min., at the most--and the batteries are interchangable-most cop shops charge the same price as the sl 20xp--the downside being the exclusion of a car charger. I own two at the moment, and plan on purchasing another 6 for my inspection crew--rugged, long lasting on one charge, and mud and cat poop resistant--what more could a spiderweb loving idiot ask for?
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2010I have this light and the larger 8060 and both are comparable in brightness with the 8060 a little bit brighter but a lot larger. One advantage of the 8060 Pelican is that it can also use Alkaline batteries in addition to the nickel metal. It has a 4 hour runt time compared to the one hour of the smaller light. Seems its the light the one lone reviewer should be using that complained about the 7060. Four times the duration and quick change batteries from Pelican, problem solved. Having said all that I like the 7060 LAPD light better than the 80 series because its much more compact and has a lithium ion battery. End of world senario get the 8060, all other uses the 7060 is the way to go.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2011Is the best flashlight you can have, powerful and light weight.
I recommend it to every friend looking for a good quality product, is amazing how Pelican is improving the products.
