I bought one of these in 2017 and used it frequently to set my table saw and bandsaw blades. It worked like a champ but with three fatal flaws:
1) There's no backlight so it's not the easiest to read and
2) It doesn't automatically turn off (and I rarely remember to turn it off) so almost every time I need it the battery is dead. And, since it takes a 9v battery it isn't the cheapest thing to replace frequently.
3) To replace the battery requires the removal of FOUR tiny screws. -- that's the deal breaker.
Between these three factors, it was simply cheaper to buy one of the MANY competitors that has a backlight and easy to change batteries. This tool sadly ended in the trash.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this unit and the accuMASTER cube at the same time for comparison. The accuMASTER is much lighter and feels much much cheaper. Also the accuMASTER only goes to a tenth of degree resolution compared to hundredths and only one magnet as opposed to three 6 technically. This unit is also sold by companies such as Baleigh industrial which right away lets me know it's quality. It is nice and substantial in your hands. Also the ability to measure angles in relationship to each other instead of just going off level is absolutely invaluable in a fabrication environment. It works more like a protractor in this way.

It took me awhile to figure this out. When I first got it and turned it on it just read "ERR". There's not really any help or support on line. I did the calibration steps and got it to work. Later when I pulled it out to use it it displayed "ERR" again. I was pretty disgusted and put it back in the drawer because I didn't have time to dick with it. The next time I pulled it out it worked fine. ??? The next time it displayed "ERR" again. Instead of putting it away I stuck it to the bench; a little later I noticed the display was reading again. The last time I used it I got a clue. I don't keep my shop warm when I'm not working, not freezing, but maybe 40-45 degrees. The gauge displayed "ERR" again, so I set it in front of the heater. After a few minutes it was displaying the angle. I used it but between operations I stuck it to the pan brake, after a bit when I tried to use it it read "ERR" again. I put it in my pocket for a bit and it started working again. I guess the brake was cold enough to cool the cube down to stupid mode. So, I guess if you keep it above maybe 55 degrees it works fine. Another feature I don't think I like (or haven't really gotten used to yet) is that when you start to go past 90 degrees the display inverts. What this means is that when you have it clipped to your work and you're bending a bit past 90 to get the elastic deformation out, the display flips back and forth and you have to wait for it to decide what it wants to show you. I don't like that. Jim

RECEIVED A CHEAP WIXEY WR300 type 2 W/ MY NEW WICKED EDGE PRO-PACK 3 ANGLE SHARPENER. AND THAT WAS MY ONLY BEEF....IT GETS THE JOB SORT OF DONE. BUT THE iGaging AngleCube IS 10X BETTER.
THE WIXEY ONLY HAD MAGNETS ON THE BOTTOM, I WANTED MAGNETS ON ALL THREE SIDES.
THE iGaging AngleCube HAS A ''''HOLD''' BUTTON
IS HEAVY DUTY
READS FASTER AND MORE ACCURATE
HAS A LARGE 9V BATTERY
AND EVEN A MINI SCREW DRIVER COMES WITH IT TO OPEN IT UP FOR INSTALLING BATTERY.
ALL METAL CONSTRUCTION, TOO
IT SCREAMS.....QUALITY!
''THE WIXEY?''.... NOT SO MUCH.
WICKED EDGE, ADD THE iGaging AngleCube TO THE $1000+ PRO SHARPENERS.

I'm short so if I'm not holding it where I can see it easily I just set this on top to get a nice level line.
This is the exact same brand offered on some websites for use with the Edge Pro knife sharpener.
I do not use this with the "stop collar" available on other sites. Instead I do the following:
1. Mount the stone, and let rest the stone at the edge of the sharpening table.
2. Place the cube on the table and zero it (Level button)
3. Carefully balance the angle cube on the blade stop right in front of the handle (You don't have to be THAT careful, it's nearly as big as the cube itself)
4. Adjust sharpening angle until you reach desired angle.
5. Do this with every change of stone.
Yes, you will be a fraction of a degree off depending on how far you keep the blade off the sharpening table, but you will be that SAME fraction-of-a-degree off with every stone. So if you want to do the math you can sharpen at (pulling this number out of my @$$) 15.85 degrees to get the 16 degrees on the blade you desire, but I care for total precision, not total accuracy.

This is a nicely built angle cube and it's accurate. I ordered a less expensive brand and ended up returning it because it wouldn't hold zero correctly. This one holds zero no problem and is accurate. It's built solid and has magnets on three sides. My only gripe is it isn't backlit and can be hard to read in some situations. Other than that it's nice and I would recommend it over others.

I received my gauge a couple of days ago, right on time. The product comes in blister packaging and includes instructions, a soft case, a 9 volt battery, and a tiny screwdriver for removing the gauge's back panel when changing the battery. The screwdriver fits in the case along with the gauge.
The gauge has a metal body that feels very solid. I found the magnets strong enough when attaching the gauge to my saw blades. The controls are simple and easy to understand. The instructions are written in the kind of English we've come to expect with Chinese-made products, but they are understandable.
I tested the gauge on my table saw, my miter saw, and my bandsaw. These had already been set up using non-electronic methods. As far as I can tell, the gauge reads accurately. I did find it a bit hard to adjust my blades to a specific angle because the last two digits on the display tended to jitter as I moved the blade. This may be operator error or simply the nature of the device.
Overall, I'm happy with the product and look forward to using it in my shop.

The warranty is only good for 30 days.

The warranty is only good for 30 days. I have had this product for almost 10 months. Never been dropped or banged. Mostly just sits in my toolbox. I went to use it today and it will not work. Once the level is pressed it just sits there. You can rotate any way you want and it will not read anything just sits at 0.00 DEG. I went to check my warranty online as I bought it thru Amazon from another company, and they only warrantied the unit for 30 days after purchase. Seriously? I buy plenty of things thru amazon and it all works fine but if you can only warranty your product for 30 days there is a serious issue. Shame on me for not reading all details.

I've only got to use it a few times but so far I'm happy with it. It's got some weight to it. I bought it for my tablesaw / woodworking stuff in my garage and I think I'll be getting another one for work as I'm a welder/fabricator.

This thing is awesome, totally handy. Only complaints are that you need a screwdriver to change the battery, but they do send one with it. And the magnets could be stronger. Still really like it tho.
