In my couple months with these batteries (and some previously purchased double A's of this same brand/version), based upon my anecdotal experiences so far, these are nearly as good and perhaps just as good as the well-respected Eneloop batteries (known for their white cover or jacket).

I've used about a half dozen various brand rechargeable batteries over the last few years, and these rank in the top two, neck and neck with the Eneloops in terms of charging consistency and perceived performance.

These Rayovac's were purchased from Adorama via Amazon. The one negative about Adorama is that you stand a good chance of getting batteries from late 2008 or early 2009. I'm not sure how much new/unused but older manufactured rechargeable effects the batteries longer term viability, but it's worth pointing out. Even factoring in the age, given that I was able to purchase my few batches of Rayovac 4.0's for less than half of what you typically pay for Eneloops, it's remains an excellent buy no matter what.

On a side note, as good of a battery this is, the packaging is atrocious from the standpoint of communicating to the consumer that these are rechargable batteries. It makes me ill to think of all the impulse consumers who find these in stores and think they are a one time use battery and simply toss them in the trash when through. Rayovac really dropped the ball on this aspect. For this reason and the age of the battery provided via the Adorama seller, I marked the score down by one star.

I was skeptical about purchasing these at first due to the questionable wording on the container and batteries, but they have turned out to be great pre-charged and low self-discharge rechargeable NiMH batteries. I'm almost certain these are the same as the Rayovac hybrids with a different wrapper to market towards "lithium-lovers". I'm not going to complain since this is a fraction of the price and works just as well. I highly recommend these for the price and performance.

For items like remotes, cameras and things that just don't get thrown away, rechargable batteries are the way to go. So far this Rayovac brand is hanging in there with my Duracells and Enagizers. I have not had them for nearly as many charges as it says you can do but I have saved money beyond my initial investment.

    These are great little rechargeables.

You'll have the best results with a smart charger, and like most rechargeables, these cells will perform better after 3 charge/discharge cycles so don't be disappointed by the first couple of charge cycles.
