Brendan's books are a must-read for everyone who wants to thrive versus just survive. You do not have to become a radical vegan to enjoy the nutritional guidelines in Thrive Fitness. Anyone can benefit tremendously from implementing the pre-, during, and post-workout recipes.

I am training for a triathlon, and simply cannot believe how much more quickly my body recovers from strenuous exercise now that I am following Brendan's recommendations for what to eat before I work out, while I'm doing it, and after the fact.

A bit of advice to all you animal product consumers: Even you will LOVE the sport drinks, puddings, and smoothies. Try them -- your body will thank you!

Excellent resource for anyone who is making a change in their diet and exercise plan. The Vega products are worth a try too.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Auxiliary . . .

Thrive Fitness (2008) is a great compliment to Thrive Diet (2007). It reiterates, in summary form, the chief tenets of Thrive Diet and sets forth a wealth of sound fitness advice. But it is not, in my view, a stand-alone work. To complete the system, so to speak, one needs the more thorough nutritional breakdown included in Thrive Diet. So, buy both excellent books, beginning with the older Thrive Diet.

Great book. Extremely helpful not only in a "life coaching" sense, but also in a health, nutrition and fitness sense. This book really promotes living "green", and how to push past things mentally and physically. Functional fitness and functional learning and thinking. Great job :)
