I had peeling, weak nails for years. Tried everything. A friend recommended a nail strengthener they saw on qvc. It was quite pricey and I wanted to make sure it was worth it so I read the reviews. One of the comments said just buy Solar Oil. Since it was much more affordable than the qvc stuff, I tried it. I bought it in February. This size bottle lasted a bit more than a month religiously applying it 2-3 times a day. I was really seeing great improvement so I bought another bottle in late March. By May, all the peeling had grown out and my nails were getting stronger every day. I then bought the big 4 oz refill bottle because I never want to run out of it again! Cannot recommend this stuff enough!

Unbelievable product for two reasons:

(1) Healthy eponychium (often mistakenly referred to as the cuticle - the ridge of skin around your nails.) Mine were ragged, and horribly over-grown. I didn't want to keep cutting them because it apparently just keeps them growing more and more. Mine were so unsightly I was embarrassed to ever have my hands show. I had a manicure in March and the technician was very kind, but dismayed at how much skin there was to trim. There was a huge pile of it! I don't have the time or money for regular trips to the salon to have them trimmed and trimming them was exacerbating the problem (from what I later learned.) I did a lot of research online on what to do. Several sources recommended CND Solar Oil used several times a day. I've been using it 7-14 times a week for three months and my hands don't even look like mine. The overgrown "hedges" around my nails have totally disappeared as has and peeling skin or hangnails. I had a manicure recently and there wasn't even anything for them to trim! I hardly recognize them! For this reason alone I would give it as many stars as possible I love showing off my hands!!

(2) Nail strength. I didn't realize when I bought this that it would help strengthen my nails. I was totally surprised and could not be more thrilled. I've always kept my nails quite short because I am a no nonsense person and could not take the upkeep. Maybe once a year I'd splurge and get a gel manicure and grow them out a bit, but gel was the only way to get any length. My nails almost feel like toenails now. They just grow and don't break! I've started wearing nail polish for really the first time in my life and people think that I have gel!

I have one bottle at work and one on my nightstand. I use it every morning at work and every night before bed. This will be a lifelong staple - I LOVE IT!

I've had hard, long nails since the age of 14. But when I moved to Upper mid west 10 years ago with brutal winters, they all broke off by december. The dry cold and sticking my hands in a fireplace (even with gloves) took it's toll on my nails. I thought cuticle oils only affected the skin BUT I was wrong. I applied this product not only around the cuticle area but UNDER the nail, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY- I believe this made the biggest difference. They are no longer dried out from cold and heat. Also, when I removed nail polish, I immediately polish with this oil and rub in. I then put on thin gloves (the disposable type) and put my finger tips in hot water for a 'deep conditioning treatment.'

This oil is fine, but just know that this bottle is really TINY. It's not misadvertising, it say so right here that this is .25, but I did not notice and would not buy this again. These oils are really all about the same. Personally, my favorite oil is the Gelish oil, which smells great, is light but moisturizes well, and comes in a good size (enough for finger and toes and to last awhile). Just not a great value for what it is. So.... eh....

Unlike the other reviewers, I didn’t mind the size of the bottle. What I did care about was the fact that after over two weeks of using this CND Solar Oil (0.25 fl. oz) for $8.50, my nails look no different than they did when I began using it. I used this oil at least three times a day making sure I drenched my nails with this oil and rubbed it in all over the nails and cuticles and the skin surrounding the nails. In fact, I finished that procedure fifteen minutes ago and I’m going to take a picture and include it. You won’t need to see a before picture because my nails don’t look any different than before.

Love this stuff. My manicurist gave me a tiny bottle to take home after a manicure and it lasted me several months, so I imagine this bottle will last quite a bit if I don't go all crazy with it. I keep it at my desk and apply it throughout the day. I've never had healthier nails and cuticles.

Also smells delicious. I almost want to taste it, but I won't because that's just weird.

My nails were so damaged from years and years of acrylic nails so when I stopped having them done my nails would constantly break, peel, chip and just not grow at all. I saw this on buzzfeed and thought I’d try it. It’s such a fantastic product and has really done wonders. I wish I had a before photo but my nails are now a great length and I wouldn’t go back to acrylics. It smells lovely and I only applied once a night whereas others said they used it more than once. If you want your nails to grow give this a go!

Having had acrylic nails for the first time in years my nails were really dry on removing the acrylics. I purchased this oil based on the reviews and I’ve used the whole bottle and my nails have only become drier and more brittle after use! Also the brush doesn’t reach all the way done into the product so there comes a time when you have to start tipping the bottle sideways etc to get the product onto the brush and apply. Won’t buy this again not moisturising in the slightest for me I’ve had to purchase something else to try and help

I love this oil and its beautiful delicate almond scent. My beautician uses it, too. It works perfectly for my cuticles and I apply it every day.
The only thing is I don’t like the brush, I’m not happy with its quality. I use a tiny make up brush, just a basic lip brush, which I simply dip in and then use on my nails. I find it much better this way
