It’s so narrow that lifting and controlling the weight becomes the least of your worries. You will either smash your hands between the bar and the arms, or drop the weight on your chest by not being able to properly rack the bar.
If you don’t have long and strong arms that can get the weight from outside the arms, you won’t be able to comfortably grab the bar in a balanced position. Also, loading the bar with weight has to be perfectly balanced or you will have big problems. So if you’re serious about lifting... you should definitely look elsewhere.
Thankfully I also purchased a squat rack. I think I’ll use that for bench press as well. I will be donating this unit to some one else.

Two things come up a little short: One is the width of the main rack posts - they are a little close together for my 6' self. When I lay back and grab the bar, my hands want to go right where the posts are located. Since I only do lighter reps with the bar, it's not a problem. But if you were maxxing or power lifting, it could be a problem since I reposition my hands right where the brackets are so I can't really set the bar down without jumping my hands out of the way.
The other is the threaded locking pin for the curl support. It's very hard to reposition it for different height users and having it be a threaded handle seems unnecessary. I ordered a spring-loaded locking pin and plan to drill new holes to create both more heights to set it at and easier access to the pin.
The only other shortcoming is the padding is a bit thin, especially on the curl pad, and typically requires a thick towel to help soften it up.
But at this price (~$140) it's a real bargain if you're looking for a slightly compact yet very sturdy bench.
The only complaint I have is that the bar rests are right where I would put my hands to grab the bar, so I either need to have my hands a little too close together or a little too far apart. I wish the bars were further out, but it hasn't been that much of an issue that I wouldn't recommend the bench to others unless you're lifting some serious weight, but then you would want to aim for a different bench anyway.
Also, the fly press arms feel a little short. They're still effective, but it feels like they're working my arms just as much as my chest. This feeling could just be because I'm used to the machines at the gym with the pads for your forearms, but it's just fine and I'm going to keep using them.
So yeah, I like it. It took about an hour and a half to put together. The instructions are dense, but the diagrams are perfectly clear and the steps are written out in English. In addition, the organization of the bolts, washers, and nuts were laid out immaculately and it made everything really easy to find. I did need to use my personal ratchet set to fasten the bolts, so make sure you have one of those handy to complete the setup. That is, unless it comes with a wrench or something that I just didn't see.
First, back rest does not decline or lock in upright.
Second, butterfly attachment is useless.
Third, it might look sturdy, but is not!
This is more like a $50 beginners bench.
I am very excited to use it and I hope hubby likes it too along with my teen. I will come back and review the actual usage of it. It seems to be sturdy, but not sure how it will be with actual use.
After purchasing I started seeing ads for it at a much expensive price, so I'm glad I purchased it here when I did.

Thank you for such an awesome product. i love it
Packaging was good and instructions were clear, took about 45 minutes to assemble by myself. The bench fits my height well, but I think anyone over 5'10 will have some height issues when laying down on it. Anyone above 6' would have a very hard time working out comfortably.
The bench itself is pretty sturdy and haven't had to do any adjustments after the initial assembly. The cushions are ok, but some of the sides can dig into your body depending on your workout. The leg extension works well for me, but again I'd probably like something nicer if I worked out on a regular basis. The butterfly extension is completely useless (I guess you can use it to store your weights on those arms).
Overall the bench works well for me, but I do wish I purchased one with a usable butterfly extension instead.

the butterfly feature makes it impossible to do a safe, ergonomically correct rep. They are functionally useless, features (along with the leg curl attachment) and if used, they are going to injure you. It's not permitting the range of motion you need to work the joint/muscle safely.
The settings of the back rest to incline, decline, and neutral: the incline is too close to the bar, so you will not be able to do a heavy rep on this, because the bar rests where your head will be... POP. So those are off the table. I do most of my press work on the neutral or 'decline' (which is very similar to neutral and not really acheiving any decline).
I use the bar cage to hold my bar when I'm not lifting it. It has been good for that.
Is a bar cage and essentially just a bench worth the money? I see them for cheaper. It's what you're getting.
- Facil de ensamblar
- Aparentemente buena capacidad de carga
- Materiales ligeros y resistentes
