I bought this for myself this Christmas past as somewhat of an impulse buy, and it's probably one of the best impulse buys I have made. This shaver has just amazed me, better than any electric or blades that I have used in the past. They advised a 3 week break in period to get your skin accustomed to this razor but from the first shave I did not have any rash or discomfort just a smooth extremely close shave. Evidently it just gets better from here. I have a fairly light beard with fine hairs plus my skin is not overly sensitive so some one else might get different results than I did.
Although I am not an Electric Razor expert as some of the other reviewers seem to be, however I do know when I have had a smooth, comfortable, close shave. I have not used an electric razor for over 30 years, never did care for them. Back then I used a straight blade electric Remington which I definitely did not care for and a Norelco which was good but not great in those days.
Until receiving this Norelco I was using the Schick Quattro Razor. It's a good blade razor with 4 titanium blades. It shaved quite well on the straight away's, but around the curves and my neck area " where I have hairs going in 3 different directions " it did not do well. I had to go over and over again in different directions to get all the hairs. I also have a clef chin which made it difficult for most other razors to shave properly. This Norelco worked great in all areas for me, plus got all those difficult neck and chin hairs with ease. Just started running the razor around the back of my neck when I shave. It's easy to reach and seems to do a good job of getting the pesky, unsightly hair that grows there. These are the ones that make it look as though you should be getting a haircut way before you really need one.
As far as the trimmer goes, I have no problem with clicking in the separate trimmer blade maybe every week or so since that is all I will probably be using it. I used it to trim the bottom of my mustache and sideburns and it worked extremely well.
This razor is quiet almost seems as though it's not running fast enough to do the job, but it does. It's easy to clean by opening it up and running it under hot water.
All and all this is a great razor the best I have used;::: EVER.
