Pros
-Wireless is freedom
-Comfy
-Audio is comparable to $200 and even $300 headphones
-Built in Sidetone
-Mic is clear and crisp
Cons
-Plastic body is not sturdy enough
-Sidetone will reset to 0 upon wireless signal loss
-I've gotten a couple of lemons that I will talk about more specifically
-Logitech support takes a while to get back to you
So I have a lot of feelings about this headset. Let's start with the audio quality (that you will hear). I personally can't say that I am an audiophile, but I have tried to delve into the world of audiophiles. I bought an AKG K7xx which is a $200 set of headphones. Linus from LinusTechTips claimed that the AKG K7xx sounds very, VERY similar to the Sennheiser HD600 (which costs $320 today, July 3, 2015 on Amazon). The reason I am mentioning this is because I can't really tell the difference between the AKG K7xx and the Logitech G930. Let me also add that I really dislike the surround sound and NEVER use it.
Next let's move on to the mic quality. I really like it. I talk with a number of different people online and they all use various different microphones. Some of them use cheap desktop mics, some use Kingston HyperX Clouds, some use modmics, some use xbox 360 mics connected to xbox 360 controllers, and one other person uses the Logitech G930. I have to say, the friend with the Logitech G930 is my favorite listen to. There's no annoying static in the background, it sounds crisp and perfect for chatting. I wouldn't say its great for Youtube videos or Podcasting, but it would be satisfactory. If you already own a high quality microphone, the G930 make a good pair of wireless headphones. If you're a person who *needs* sidetone, you can even use the G930 mic for just the sidetone while you use a different mic for recording.
Now it's time to talk about wireless. There are reviews on this item that complain about the wireless being bad and it disconnecting often. I feel like those people got the defective units. The reason I say that is because when I first bought the headset it worked fine, hardly any loss of signal. Then at one point it physically broke and I had to warranty it. When I got a replacement unit, I was getting SO MANY wireless disconnects. It was unreal. I would get like one every ten minutes. Again, through the warranty, I got another replacement and that unit worked perfectly fine.
There is a wireless router in my home and it doesn't affect my headset's signal. I can even leave my room and walk around my home and still use this headset. I can go to almost every room in my house and maintain the signal. The exceptions are the basement (two floors down) and a few corner rooms. I can even keep the signal on my porch steps.
Build quality is, in my opinion, the most disappointing part about this product. It's pretty flimsy plastic. It flexes as you put it on your head and you can hear it creak as you move it around. I've had *three separate G930's* where the plastic broke in such a way that rendered the headset unwearable. Once on the upside down "Y" that holds the earpiece and twice on the hinge that connects that upside "Y" to the top headband. I almost want to mod it myself and fortify it with metal because I love this headset but it's not sturdy enough. Let me also add some context: I am a heavy user of this headset. I wear it anywhere from 2-6 hours a day (very rough estimate) so maybe a light user won't have it break as easily.
You may have noticed that I've had multiple headsets of this model. I have only bought one. That is because this unit comes with a 3 year manufacturer's warranty (or 2 if I read it wrong). I've RMA'd it four times in the past and I am currently waiting on Logitech support to get back to me so I can RMA it again. They've covered it when the plastic breaks and they've covered it when I got a lemon (defective unit). They even pay the shipping fee to send the item from you to them and then back. Those things alone are great in terms of customer support. However they do sometimes really confuse me. I say this because sometimes it takes forever for them to get back to you. Sometimes they respond to warrantly claims on their site within 2 business days. Sometimes they respond to you in a week. I've even had them respond to me in as much as 3 weeks. That does sound kind of inconvenient but that's not even the worst of it. On one of my RMA's they wouldn't even respond to my online account and I had to call them a few times. So with all that being said, it's good and bad, but they definitely have pulled through for me.
Let me tell you, this headset is comfy! I can happily wear it for extended periods of time. Not having to deal with wires is a *Godsend.* Whenever I am forced to use a different headset there will be times when the headset wire get's caught under my chair wheel or on the armrest and it's really annoying. With wireless, I even walk around my house while chatting! If I wanted to go grab a drink, I could. If I wanted to watch a movie in bed at night without bothering others, I could! If I wanted to play a console in the living room, I could! With the appropriate setup I even feed console audio into the headset, which is amazing I might add.
Battery life is good enough. Just plug it in when you aren't using it. If you forget to, just plug it in while you use it.
The software is meh. I have a big gripe about it specifically. The gripe is that in the event the headset loses signal, the sidetone resets to 0. I absolutely HATE that. I hate the feeling when I sound muffled and sidetone makes it so I don't sound muffled. There isn't anything that can be done about this aside from opening the software and resetting the sidetone slider. There have been other users who also posted numerous times on the Logitech forums and in emails, but unfortunately it seems that Logitech just doesn't care about this problem.
My preferred setup nowadays is to use the Logitech G930 as wireless headphones. I use a Blue Yeti mic for pretty much everything but I still have the G930 mic in place so I can have sidetone. I have a $200 AKG set of headphones as backup (which I plan to use when the G930 breaks). It's gonna suck when the warranty runs out. I will then have to make a decision. Try to find a better wireless headset, or just buy another G930 and deal with RMA's.
+ Comfort... I think it’s perhaps the most comfortable of the wireless headsets around that price point. The faux leather is actually very soft and does not create a sweat ring around my ear, the shape is actually perfect for my hear and covers the whole thing without touching at all.
+ Sound is fine for the price point that it’s at now. The bass is kind of blown up a ton in DD 7.1 mode and can come across almost distorted, thankfully not distorted. Everything else is fine.
+ Buttons! It has buttons that made it really convenient for using things like Netflix, Spotify, things that respond to play/pause commands. The mic mute is seriously awesome since I do use this as a VOIP headset at work (have for over a year now), one of the biggest reasons that I’m sticking with this headphone actually. The other buttons are also programmable and I’m a bit of a Powershell nut so I can set them to do things like answer my VOIP, open my case file and OneNote at the same time. And they are context sensitive buttons, so they change depending on the app that’s running.
+ Microphone is good, comes with an indicator light on it telling you when you’re muted or not. It picks up my typing, but so far every other wireless gaming headset has. My Plantronics bluetooth earpiece doesn’t, however, so I’m sure there’s the tech out there and perhaps some higher-priced and newer tech cans might come with a better mic. Rotating the microphone upwards does mute it automatically, a kind of standard feature from headsets that have rotating mics.
+ Wireless range is actually pretty good compared to H2100s, Turtle Beach Stealth 500 and ManO’Wars. I was surprised by this fact that I can go downstairs, into my garage and to the outside beer fridge, get a cold one and not have to worry about disconnecting or losing a call or hearing stuttering from Spotify, just about everywhere in my house it will work.
- The buzzing noise. It happens perhaps once a week and is quite annoying (understatement). This happens sporadically, I haven’t found any triggers for it, but when it does happen there is a very loud buzzing sound that overwhelms the audio very quickly and a underlying tone that sound like perhaps the things are getting interference from something. At work these cans don’t do that, so it very well may be a setup at home that causes the buzzing noise, but still they shouldn’t do this. My other wireless cans don’t have this problem at all. It will go away if I turn off the headphones for about 2 minutes.
- Disconnects. These don’t happen all too often, but occasionally (once every other week) the headset goes through a fit of disconnecting and reconnecting over and over for about a minute; I have to play around with turning it off and plugging it into the charger.
- A standby mode? After not using them, the things go into standby that they don’t actually wake up from. You have to turn them off and back on.
- Off button doesn’t always turn off. You have to hold down the power button for about 5 seconds and sometimes longer if the button doesn’t seem to press right. That’s to turn them off. Thankfully they turn on quickly.
Other things of note:
I used these things heavily, 10-12 hours a day for over a year (Aug 15 to now). Here’s the wear and tear stuff that has happened in that time:
* Recently the left joint where it rotates cracked, allowing the left earpiece to swivel in both directions so that it can do a full 180. This happened about a month ago, however.
* Battery life lessened quite a bit. I used to be able to go almost an entire day without needing to charge them (I used them for over the advertised hours by the way). But now they only last about 6 hours, and the decline happened about 6 months ago. Now I leave the things plugged in a lot.
* The headband pressure was light to begin with but only got lighter with use. I actually like that a lot as it’s more comfortable. The headset doesn’t fly off my head, but I’m not tossing my head around. If I lean back a good bit the headset will fall off, just looking up doesn’t do it. My Corsair H2100’s felt like they weren’t going to fall off even if I was crawling around headbanging, but they are newer and the pressure they put on my head makes me want to take them off often.
* The microphone boom started to loosen up. There’s an easy fix to tighten it by removing the ear pad (5 small screws in the red plastic just under the pad, and then tighten down the screw on the boom. However, do not undo the screw. There’ s a nut on the backend of it and if you unscrew it too far the nut comes loose and you have to take apart the whole earpiece to get to the nut again.
Logitech support was actually very good to me. I got a replacement of these after about a year and the newer set didn’t have the above problems immediately. I can’t say that they won’t develop the same problems, but support was really good about it. I’m not a fanboy, but I do happen to own a bunch of Logitech stuff. These headsets were great except when they weren’t… and they weren’t great often enough that I was giving them 3 stars and only because of their price point now. Had I paid top dollar, I’d probably be more upset. Given support’s quick responses, I give them another star, plus the things have a 3-year warranty, which I didn’t know until I went to get my stuff fixed.
Bottom line:
For the price that I find these things at now, I recommend them over similar products just for the convenience of them, the comfort and the quality of support that I have experienced from Logitech (even non-gaming stuff). The only headphones that were more comfortable were my broken-in, ATHm50x and those are also more expensive.
I used a Turtle Beach Earforce stealth 500, Razer ManOWar, Corsair H2100s and Creative Tactics3D Rage wireless and of these I prefer to use my G930’s and the ManOWar the most.

A suivre...
"Muss man Sourround hören?"
Bewertung:

There is one thing that is really annoying but can be fixed using third-party software until Logitech decides to fix it. The G930 will automatically shut-off when no sound has
been present for about 10 - 15 minutes and it does not give you any notification that it has been shut-off.

Overall I would give the Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset a 4/5.
I can guarantee that you will most likely not be disappointed if you decide to purchase the Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset.
Unfortunately, I do find this unit lacking in several areas as well. The biggest one being in the manufacturing of the unit. I've not had this headset for even six months and the small plastic plate that holds the ear cups to the headband have both already broken. Now I am not one to toss my electronics around so this has come to be an underwheming surprise to me and has left me quite disappointed in Logitech's R&D department. Personally I'd have used metal or carbon fibre as these integral pieces are an important part of the overall functionality of the unit. Essentially they are what holds it together and makes it work.
Other issues I have had with this unit is the volume adjustment wheel at times does not work or when lowering the mini boom to speak it raies and lowers the volume randomly. Also other times I am unable to mute the unit at all.
So while there are really great things about this unit, I feel that, because of how it was made by Logitech, the poor plasticky making of it belies all of the other wonderful features that this unit offers the consumer.
Vorteile:
+ gute Reichweite
+ guter Klang
+ gutes Mikrofon
+ Mikrofon aus durch Hochklappen des Bügels
+ Lautstärke am Kopfhörer regelbar
+ angenehmer Sitz – auch über längere Zeit
+ drei programmierbare Tasten
